Got a ring from some number today, some bloke said he was calling from the Lottery Office about a survey I supposedly took part in a few weeks ago? He told me I could win £10,000 in the Irish Lottery if I gave him my MasterCard info (he said no direct debits allowed!) so they could enter me for next month’s draw. I wasn’t having any of it and refused to share any bank details, then he just hung up.

I’ve got Truecaller on my phone to block scam calls, but this time it showed the caller as British Legion lottery. However, the guy on the line said he was actually with the Irish lottery.

This number has called me like 10 times today, kept ringing nonstop. I picked up once but nobody spoke, they just hung up. Now I just see the number and hang up straight away, it's so frustrating! Not just me, even my family gets annoyed. Wish they’d actually say something instead of wasting our time, really gets on my nerves.

Got a ring from somone claiming to be from central lottery dot com. The guy had a Geordie accent so I thought it was a UK call. There was some chuckling in the background when I questioned him, which felt a bit dodgy, especially as the call was to an elderly person. Never give out your details to these sorts, and don’t let them pressure you. They probably got your number off some dodgy list and might flag you for later. Best thing is to just hang up, report the number and block it if you can.

I look after my husband and elderly parents, so when the phone rings at weird hours I start stressing someone’s unwell. Can they not be blocked or something? If they have the tech to dodge caller ID, why can’t we have something to block these nuisance calls?!
