It’s rather uncanny that a fellow commenter mentioned these individuals obtain your number through a mortgage comparison site. Funny enough, we’ve been dabbling with one ourselves recently, and lo and behold, this is the very first time I’ve received a call from this number! We chose not to answer, instead opting to add it to our 'Spam' list, joining a whole host of others!

It appears that I've been targeted by a dubious outfit calling themselves 'Complaint Handling Services,' trying to get me to chase after some card protection insurance, or PPI as they like to term it. I’m completely baffled as to how they got hold of my number. It all seems rather sketchy, if you ask me!

This time, when we inquired about who was on the line, the person claimed to be from the complaints department. We explained our issue, but she insisted that it wasn't a complaint at all! I keep receiving a recorded message that says something like “this call was for <Blank>, kindly provide your details.” It typically rings maybe three or four times a week, just once or twice, and it's becoming a real nuisance having to delete the messages all the time. It would be fantastic if BT could offer a simple online tool where we could log this number and block it with just a few clicks. I've been advised against calling back, as that could confirm the line as active and lead to a never-ending flood of marketing nonsense. It's such a hassle!
