Ich habe diese Nummer nun schon seit einer kleinen Ewigkeit auf meinem Bildschirm und sie lässt einfach nicht nach! Weiss zufällig jemand, wer oder was sich dahinter verborgen hält?

Gerade hat mich auch dieser Anrufer kontaktiert, aber ich habe nicht abgehoben, weil die Nummer mit 0800 anfängt. Ein Kollege hat mir einen interessanten Trick verraten, wenn man mit hartnäckigen Werbeanrufen konfrontiert wird: einfach rangehen, und sobald der Anrufer erwähnt, dass er von einer gewissen Firma anruft, freundlich um einen Moment Geduld bitten, dann den Hörer einfach neben das Telefon legen und weiterhin das machen, was man gerade getan hat. Gelegentlich einen Blick darauf werfen, um zu sehen, ob derjenige noch dran ist - das könnte amüsant werden! Wenn die wieder anrufen, werde ich das definitiv ausprobieren.

The caller in question is the German internet service provider "VERSATEL" (www.versatel.de). They seem to be employing a rather pesky automated telephoning system, ringing through all the various numbers associated with your account. Should you answer the phone, you'll find yourself patched through to a call centre. However, if you happen to miss the call and attempt to ring back, you'll be met with a rather frustrating message: "the number you have dialled is temporarily unavailable..." Vor etwa eineinhalb Stunden erhielt ich ebenfalls einen Anruf von dieser Nummer. Ich habe absolut keine Idee, wessen Ruf das sein könnte.

That was really blooming frustrating! We'd definitely like to know who's been on the other end, but it seems like every time we pick up the phone, they're already long gone. It’s maddening!

Ich hatte ebenfalls ein paar Anrufe erhalten und heute war ich endlich mal zu Hause. Es war die Kundenservice-Abteilung von Versatel, die versuchte, mir einen neuen Vertrag aufzudrängen!

Hello there! Just a quick note to say that today I’ve been bombarded with calls from 08006010309, coming in every 2.5 minutes on all my messaging services. Really? In the afternoon too - as if I’m sitting idle all day! They’re even trying their luck with my fax number, can you believe it? By the way, I’m a customer of Versatel too. If they fancy chatting, they could at least do it on my mobile - that’ll cost them a pretty penny! Big thanks to this forum for shedding some light on this matter!
