Seems like the Hotpoint site is connected to this place which probably tries to flog you an extended warranty for around £4 or £5 a month, which honestly most folks don’t really want or need. I didn't pick up, but just yesterday I signed up my Beko washing machine bought from AO online. Turns out the insurance is handled by Domestic & General. So, I searched online and found this number linked to them. I guess the call was probably to sell me the insurance plan on direct debit. They've only rung me once, so I’ve just labelled it as "neutral" for now.

I got just a single call, but after seeing stuff about a home appliance scam in the comments, I reckon the call was linked to when I registered a new appliance on the internet. I definitely never signed up for Domestic and General or anything like that.

I picked up but ended the call straight away. Judging by earlier reviews, it's linked to signing up a Hoover vacuum with Domestic and General Insurance. I never signed up for additional protection and told them not to ring me back, but annoyingly they did anyway. Domestic and General really should get fined for pestering like this.

I signed up a Hotpoint appliance earlier today. Sounds like it's one of those calls from someone wanting me to buy an extended warranty, like others have mentioned. They didn’t even bother leaving a voicemail. I’ve put the number on my block list since I already told Hotpoint and Domestic & General I don't want any calls about deals or info.

Today I signed up a Beko product but didn’t go for the extra warranty. About 90 minutes later, I got a ring from 0800 597 9840, but as soon as I picked up the line went dead. Reading through what others have said, seems like they were trying to push me to get that extended warranty. I’ve blocked the number now to be safe.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Beko, but it was D&G actually. They wanted me to register my appliance right away, kind of pushy about it. Ended up blocking the number.
