Got a text telling me to ring a number immediately because my card was supposedly declined. Odd, as I'd already picked up my order about 30 minutes earlier with the till receipt in hand. This was actually the real Sainsbury's number contacting me about a payment issue. I shop online quite a bit and forgot to change my card info after my old one expired. Just got a text from this number claiming my payment was declined, but my card is valid and my account has money in it. Looks like it really is Sainsbury's after I called their main customer service and checked. It’s the team handling declined cards. Like loads of others here, my account had funds and wasn’t out of date, so no clue why it got declined. I might switch back to Tesco since I’ve never had this problem with them, but seems like quite a few folks are having issues with Sainsbury’s.

Got a message from a number saying they couldnt process my delivery payment. I didnt trust the number they sent, felt a bit dodgy, so I rang the official helpline I found online instead. They called the store and they tried charging again, saying it worked this time. Felt a bit strange tho, dunno if Sainsbury’s got a glitch or what. Also saw two same pending payments on my bank, so gonna keep an eye I dont get charged twice.

i got a text from this number saying it was from sainsbury's. it seems legit, but i usually say you should google the company’s official phone number and sort things out that way - best not to rely on texts about money stuff. the bank’s fraud team said they blocked a payment for an online grocery order, and when i called them they said this number is real. i also looked up sainsbury’s contact info myself and they agreed this number is genuine.

it was actually sainsbury's ringing me (i did double check with their online customer service who told me not to ring back but when i explained i thought my card might be expired they confirmed it was a legit call). i gave them no personal info just to be safe, but they already had everything like my address and the last four numbers of the card used (which was expired and i didn’t notice when ordering). sorted out new card info and my order is now on its way.
