I told them I'm registered with TPS and to stop ringing me, but they just kept saying it was a scheduled call back. Then the woman on the phone got proper nasty, started threatening me and shouting all sorts. I stayed polite and kept my cool, but she just got angrier and angrier. I mentioned I'd report her and their firm, though I doubt it'll stop them from targeting people who can't defend themselves. They must've got my info from a new owner or something - no permission or anything was given, just lies and aggressive behaviour.

I told the person on the line I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away. They rang me back right after, asking why I’d ended the call. I repeated that I wasn’t interested, and then the woman on the phone started calling me a f##king b#tch before hanging up on me!

This bloke called saying he could help me lower my electricity and gas bills. I quickly changed the subject and asked if he’d ever thought about inviting Jesus into his life, then broke into a hymn which seemed to catch him off guard! Despite that, he had the nerve to ring again later. I reckon most of us can handle these types no problem, but it’s the elderly who really get hit hard by these pests. I really can’t stand them.

After a bit of questioning, the person on 0800555759 finally admitted it was just a sales call. I asked him to take me off their call list but he refused. Isn’t it meant to be illegal not to remove people when they ask? Why hasn’t the government done anything to stop these annoying scammers? Absolutely frustrating!

I keep getting calls at my shop about some electric bill that’s supposedly too high. It’s well annoying. Now every time I pick up, I just start asking them loads of questions about what takeaway they want instead. They get really annoyed and it cheers me up no end!

Somebody rang saying they were from the UK energy council, supposedly a government department. They told me we were paying too much to our energy provider and offered to switch us over to another supplier who, turns out, had actually been dissolved way back in 2015. I just kept them chatting for about 18 minutes until I lost interest and hung up.

They claimed to be from Direct Energy, but sounded really pushy and sketchy. When I asked them to confirm their company name and where they were calling from, they dodged the question at first. Eventually, they let slip they were actually calling from Pakistan. Definitely felt like a scam.

Some bloke claiming to be from National Grid called me, moaning about how much we pay for our electricity. He kept asking for the house owner, so I acted like I didn’t understand English properly and told him I had to dash. Then I just ended the call. I was certain it was a scam straight away. I got a call on my work number from someone wanting to speak to the owner. Without thinking, I blurted out, "No, f#ck off" and cut them off. Then, to my surprise, they called me right back and shouted, "No, you f#ck off, b##ch." Honestly, it was pretty funny.

Got a call from someone saying they were from the electricity board, telling me my energy provider was charging me way too much. I told them I couldn't see how, as I regularly check my meter and bills every few months. Then, they started grilling me about my supplier, how much I pay, and even asked my first name. I asked them to send me something in writing explaining their claims. The bloke said he'd connect me to his manager. Before I could hang up, another guy jumped on the line repeating the same story. I asked for it in writing again, and then they just cut the call. Feels like a scam just trying to fish for your info, making you think you're getting a better deal.

Even worse, they kept ringing my Mum, who has Alzheimer's. They kept asking her for bank info and she got really scared, thinking someone was coming to her house. Now my sister’s kids have sorted out a rota to stay over every other night to help her chill out and try to forget about it. We did alert Virgin, and as a result, we had to upgrade our package for about £3 extra each month to block these pesky marketing and scam calls. Fingers crossed it works! Surely there’s a law against this sort of harassment? It’s really troubling!

Got a call from 0800555759 at 11:31 on Monday 31 October 16. I told the bloke on the other end that I’m already on the phone preference list. When I asked for his contact info, the guy with an Indian accent said he wouldn’t give me his details unless I gave him mine first. Proper frustrating and a total waste of time.
