Got a call from 03001237000 on 07/04/23, the person said they were from Crimestoppers. Just a heads up - actual Crimestoppers number is 0800555111. I tried to report a crime but they said police deal with all reports like that, they don’t take them. Quite confusing!

I get why some folks say crime stoppers is safe, but honestly, you ain’t really anonymous when dialling their 0800 number. Calls to freephone numbers like that are still logged so the receiver gets charged, and even if you put 141 before the number to hide your ID, it doesn’t really make you secret. Loads of people think they’re anonymous but they’re not, it’s kinda misleading.

Someone left a note in my letterbox about something that supposedly happened nearby, asking me to ring this number. Weird thing is, none of my neighbours got one at all!!! Just a heads up, be careful!!!

I got a call from this number where the bloke started asking loads of questions, but I didn’t give any details. Weirdly, he knew my exact address. He told me someone had used my name to open a few bank accounts. Then he asked if I’d sent money abroad or got any from overseas. He rattled off four bank names and checked if I had accounts with any of them. Next, he wanted me to get on the internet so he could “show” me something, but I didn’t go for it. After that, he just hung up on me.
