Earlier today, we received a call from them, claiming that they were quite generous, offering us a copy of "The Lion King" along with another book for free. Initially, it all sounded lovely, but then they mentioned that if we liked what we received, we’d need to cough up £3.99; otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to hold onto the free gift. It seems they’re involved with the book deal in some way, doesn’t it?

Hello! I'm reaching out in hopes of getting some guidance on cancelling our subscription. We’ve been bombarded with Disney books every four days, and it's simply too much for us. I tried to contact them via email but somehow landed on this site. Could you share how you managed to cancel yours? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! - Zoe.

These callers seem to ring once or twice every day, and despite the fact that we never pick up the phone, they just won't stop trying to reach us.

We returned their books as required, but these individuals claimed they never received them. They did send an email assuring us that we’d get a credit once the books were back in their possession. However, a month later, we received a bill. We're still trying to sort out a cancellation. If anyone needs to reach out, I suggest emailing them at [email protected] or [email protected]. You might come across either Sharlotte Botha or Christal-Jane Retief in your correspondence.

This number has been ringing our landline for the past couple of days, sometimes up to four times daily! We’ve chosen not to answer since our phone is faulty and can't take incoming calls. We do have a voicemail service in place, yet these callers never leave a message! It’s rather baffling, to say the least!

We’re looking to send these books back to the company; could you advise us on the proper procedure to follow?

In the past week, I've received a fair few calls from this number, but I've chosen not to answer them since I wasn't familiar with it. I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I shouldn’t really be getting these nuisance calls at all.

We recently decided to terminate our subscription with Books for Children (or perhaps it's Books Direct?) and let me tell you, it was no walk in the park! These folks are just far too insistent, bombarding us with incessant sales calls and, bafflingly, they rarely have any of the titles in stock. We were very specific in expressing our desire to no longer receive their emails, phone calls, or letters, yet here we are, still drowning in their correspondence! It's truly a bit of a nightmare!

We’ve already dispatched the Disney books to them, but they keep bombarding us with reminders. We’ve got the proof from the post office confirming it was delivered the next day. We’ve tried calling them, but the phone just goes to voicemail every time. We’re a bit at a loss here about how to officially cancel, so if you could shed some light on that, we’d really appreciate it!

So, we managed to wrangle their email address: [email protected]. The company's name is Hachette Partworks, by the way. If you need to reach out to them, there's another contact number: 08714724240. Just a heads up-it’ll set you back 10p per minute if you're calling from a landline. Best to avoid calling from a mobile, as the charges could be through the roof! They claim to send out free books, but to be honest, it seems like there’s been nothing complimentary in these recent weeks.

For the last week, we've been receiving daily missed calls from 08005426936. As soon as we return their call, we’re greeted by a voicemail that states Bounty is contacting us about some marketing promotion. Listening to that message set us back 40p, which is just brilliant, isn’t it? 🙄 We’re now signed up with the Phone Preference Service, so fingers crossed these nuisances will finally cease!

We received a call from this number with someone asking for our father. We're quite puzzled, as we don't have a clue who these individuals are or what their intentions were, considering our phone died mid-conversation. It's a bit odd, really-why would anyone be searching for our dad via our phone?

We were instructed to return their books, yet they claimed they never received them. They did reach out via email, assuring us that we'll be credited upon the books' return. However, a month passed and we received a bill instead. We are still trying to sort out a cancellation for this.

It’s our assumption that this might be Books for Children, similar to what someone else mentioned. Nevertheless, I’ve been receiving two or three calls a day from them. We typically don’t answer 0800 numbers, as we’re harassed by salespeople throughout the day. However, these callers have the audacity to ring at 8pm, which is far too late and rather intrusive. Just last night, we had two calls-both of which we chose to ignore-between half seven and eight, and it really disrupted the kids’ bedtime routine. This is not acceptable behaviour!

I've been receiving calls from this number quite annoyingly-around two or three times a day for the past few weeks! It seems to be linked to a marketing outfit called Telefocus, which seems to be working on behalf of various other businesses. They also have another number: 01525 720. It’s becoming a right nuisance, honestly!

A call just came through from this number, inquiring about our father. We haven't a clue who these individuals are or what they’re after, especially since our phone battery died mid-conversation. It’s rather puzzling why they'd be seeking our dad through our line, don’t you think?

After enduring days of incessant calls, primarily during the evenings and on weekends (quite cheeky, if you ask me), we finally decided to answer. The telemarketer didn't even bother to introduce herself properly. They were inquiring about someone called Miss T, to which we replied that no such person was here. The telemarketer simply said that it was fine and she'd call back when she’s free, which struck us as a rather rude remark considering they had just rung our mobile! So, we made it clear that we really don’t wish to hear from them again and sincerely hope they would stop plaguing our phone with their persistent calls.

Getting in touch with these folks is an absolute chore! It's like shouting into a void. You send back a pile of books, and yet, two weeks down the line, there’s a bill landing on your doorstep. It makes you wonder if anyone there has the faintest clue what’s going on. We're still grappling with an outstanding balance for the books we returned in February! It’s frustrating, especially since sending them back incurred costs on our end. And a little tip-always, and I mean always, keep that proof of postage safe!

These individuals seem to ring us predominantly during the late hours, and the moment we pick up the phone, they just hang up straight away. Quite the nuisance, really!

Earlier today, we received a call from them. They claimed to be affiliated with a company called Bounty and were touting some lovely books on The Lion King, among others. At first, they mentioned that these titles were complimentary. However, they then changed their tune, saying that if we were happy with their offer, we’d need to part with £3.99. If we weren't keen, apparently, we could still hang on to the freebie. Turns out they have some sort of collaboration with Books Direct. Quite the peculiar experience!
