Fraudulent call.

Scam alert! The caller pretends to be from Halifax but it's clearly a con. They mentioned there were two significant transactions attempted just four days ago and then insisted that I read out a password they sent. My advice? Just hang up and add them to your blocked numbers!

It seems there was an attempt to halt a dubious transaction linked to my Halifax account. I made it clear that I wouldn't engage in any communication over the phone and that I'd prefer to reach out to Halifax directly. The caller attempted to provide me with a six-digit code. A brief online search revealed that this phone number is tied to fraudulent banking activities.

I received a dodgy call from someone posing as a fraud investigator from Halifax. They were rather aggressive, saying they'd freeze my accounts if I dared to ring Halifax directly. When I mentioned I’d have to visit the bank to sort things out, it became clear they were just spoofing the actual Halifax number. Quite a shifty move, if you ask me!

I received a call purporting to be from the Halifax fraud prevention team. However, when I rang Halifax back directly, they had absolutely no record of such a call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

This number clearly belongs to a con artist and ought to be flagged immediately.

I recently received a call from this number, and the individual claimed to be representing Halifax. They mentioned some suspicious activity on my card in Brighton. As soon as I sensed something off, I hung up. Beware, this seems to be a scam!

I finally picked up the phone after receiving several calls, only to be met with a tirade of foul language from a rather unpleasant chap. I suggest you block this number immediately!

Got a couple of calls from this number back-to-back, but nobody picked up when I answered. Considering the recent spate of dodgy texts and scam phone calls I've had—two texts and five calls in under a week—I have a strong feeling this is another scam attempt. I ended up hanging up both times without saying a word.

Definitely a scam; this isn't the Halifax bank at all!

I attempted to retrieve the details of my account.

Received a call purporting to be from NatWest, inquiring about my credit card details. It was a Saturday evening, around five o'clock. No sooner had I hung up than a notification popped up on my NatWest app, warning me that a transaction had been blocked. It's clear as day this was a scam!

Received a letter regarding online banking which included a number for so-called customer service. Seems more like a sneaky attempt to get me to hand over my username and password.

I had a rather dodgy call this morning from someone purporting to be with the Halifax fraud team. He claimed he needed to verify something but after discovering that I don’t have the app on either my phone or iPad, he abruptly hung up. It's quite alarming how cunning these people can be. Stay vigilant!

I experienced something similar, I must say. They even had my mum's maiden name, but I wasn’t deceived. They claimed that someone attempted to withdraw £399 from Argos. I can’t tell you how uneasy it made me that they were aware of my mother’s maiden name!

I received a call from someone purporting to represent Lloyds Bank, asserting that there had been some unusual activity linked to my account. They were incredibly forceful, attempting to dominate the conversation when I refused to access my banking app. I've since blocked the number, yet they've made three further attempts to contact me.
