Got a letter addressed to me from: Halifax Internet Banking Support Keen House Anton Mill Road Andover SP10 2NQ The envelope's return address was: PO Box 4988 Swindon SN4 4SF Inside, it explained how to log into the Mobile Banking App using a One-Time Password. There was also a note saying if I hadn’t asked for this or wasn’t waiting for the letter, I should ring 0800 500 3914.

I’ve been getting loads of dodgy texts claiming to be Halifax, telling me to ring them about some problem with my account - but I don’t even have an account with them! They say things like I’m overdrawn or that my phone number’s been changed. What gets me is they always get my name and gender totally wrong as well. Proper scam if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Halifax fraud dept, asking if I’d bought something in a place about 150 miles away. They sounded pretty legit, so I passed the phone to my partner and the caller just hung up straight away. I cancelled my debit card and ordered a replacement, which turned up a few days later. Oddly enough, on the same day the card arrived, I got a letter that looked genuine with a one-time password and a phone number. After checking the number online, I found out it’s part of a very clever scam. Just a heads up to everyone - these folks are pretty crafty!

Somebody called using the name Mr Russell, saying my number was linked to Halifax Building Society, but then started talking about seafood? Really odd. I didn’t tap on any links they sent, and I’m going to block them straight away. Would recommend others do the same to be safe.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Lloyds Fraud dept. They had a few details about me and used some smooth questions to try and trick me. They even mentioned PayPal at one point. Seriously, don’t answer or trust that number. Just hang up, block it, freeze your card straight away and ring your bank’s official fraud team yourself!

He kept trying to convince me he was genuine, but I told him straight up he was an imposter and he should stop bothering me. Then I ended the call. I’m certain it was a phoney number.

Somebody called saying they were from my wife’s bank and already had all her details. They put us on hold a bit and then started talking about malware on our system, saying they needed to do a scan. They even had us put remote software on the computer, then asked us to log in. After that, they tried to hide the screen and go for a loan application. Super slick but honestly, steer clear of them. Got a call last night from 08005003914. The bloke on the phone claimed he was calling from Halifax and said someone had attempted to charge my card twice in Surrey - one was for an AirBnB booking of £600 and another for a pizza worth £35, but apparently the bank stopped the payments. Seemed pretty believable. He mentioned a woman would ring me back today to talk about securing my account. I looked up the number today and loads of people have flagged it as a scam. I then phoned Halifax myself and they confirmed it’s definitely a scam.
