Got a call just before 3pm today, 8th Sept 2026, from somewhere in Northern Ireland. The number showed up as SPAM on my phone. Didn’t recognise it at all and definitely didn’t ask for their call. I’m just gonna mark it as SPAM or a SCAM and block it, plus report them. They’re obviously having a laugh with the TPS and breaking UK's regulations. If they were legit, they’ve already gone against quite a few UK laws.

Got a call from this number, and during a really long 18-minute chat, I told them I’m battling cancer. They kept going like nothing. I was talking to someone named Vikki, then outta nowhere, I get a text from a different number asking me to add them on WhatsApp - no explanation or anything. Feels dodgy. For the last few days, I've been getting missed calls from this number. I haven't picked up any of them. Reading through the reviews here, it seems like they might be trying to sell me an extension on a fridge freezer warranty that’s just expired, which I’m not interested in continuing anyway.

I've been getting calls from this number multiple times a week, but they never leave a voicemail. It’s connected to an appliance of mine that’s just gone past its guarantee period, and they did send me a letter about it. I’m not interested in any extended warranty offers though. Luckily, my phone's scam blocker keeps stopping their calls.

Got a call from 0800 497 0794, I picked up but kept quiet, and they just cut off straight away. With all the scams about, I’m not taking any chances and blocked the number. Definitely suspicious.

If this is actually Domestic and General, they really don’t get that most folks with a bit of sense won’t pick up for some random cold call. Almost always, even if the person sounds British, it’s a scam. There’s just so many of those fake extended warranty calls going around. I hung up quick but then wondered if maybe it was genuine. If there’s a real promotion for extending a warranty, they ought to just send an email with all the specifics about the deal and the appliance. Plus, the call centre people should be properly trained or reported if they’re not handling it right.

So I got a call earlier, and the person immediately asked if I had recently purchased a washing machine. I did, but it was rubbish so I ended up chucking it out, although they had no clue about that. They were fishing for info, but honestly, they weren’t very convincing. Pretty clear it was a scam.

I got a call from someone who already had my name. They claimed they were from domestic and general and asked for my postcode, which I didn’t want to share. They mentioned I’d purchased a washing machine before, which is true. I told them I wasn’t interested in chatting and if it was important, they could write to my address. Not sure if it was genuine or not, but better to be safe.

I checked the number and it came up as Virgin Media, so since I was expecting a call from them, I rang it back. But it was actually Domestic and General who answered. I mentioned I had gotten a Beko fridge a while ago but the warranty had expired, wondered if they were offering some insurance. The lady said no, it was just a marketing call. When I said it felt a bit dodgy, she agreed it’s good to be careful these days. Anyway just to be clear, the number was 0794 something.
