When I asked which company she was from, she went silent. I told her I didn’t have any policy with them or any other company, since my housing association already takes care of that stuff. She just hung up. Definitely another scam, so watch out and don’t share any info. This was my third scam call today, all from different callers. Thankfully, their numbers have been shared here. Cheers, Mike Bignell 07305 880310Mike Bignell7 yearsEXTREMELY RISKY - Back in November 2019, a vulnerable elderly woman with dementia was talked into giving her bank details over the phone by some group calling themselves "NATIONAL HOME GROUP". They then tried to set up a direct debit for £219 to be taken over the course of a year. Fortunately, the lady’s Power of Attorney acted quickly and stopped any money leaving the account. They claim to sell drains insurance but have only been registered since February 2019, so it’s likely they will just vanish and pop up again under a different name in a few months. This same scam failed the year before, and I’m sure it’ll flop again if they attempt it once more with a new identity. Sadly, those without vigilant POAs might not be so lucky and could fall prey to this trick.ALARMINGNATIONALCompanies House7 yearsI've been getting calls non stop, but the minute I pick up, all I hear is some automated message. They mentioned a survey team was operating nearby tomorrow and wanted to book a slot to check our drains. They also said they tried to call in June, but I must've missed it. When I asked how much the policy cost, he said £140. But when I asked for payment info, he said he couldn’t access those details. Asked me to put my card number in the phone so he supposedly couldn’t hear it, then said they’d ring back.
