Some bloke called me claiming to be from the Nationwide Credit Card team. He didn’t say why he was ringing but jumped straight to asking for confirmation details. I told him I wasn’t happy giving info without knowing what it was about and asked him to explain. He quickly told me to ring the Nationwide Credit Card helpline number on my card and then just ended the call abruptly. The whole thing seemed a bit fishy. Still, I gave the official Nationwide number a call and they said this number was genuine, though warned to always hang up if anything feels off.

I even got a text saying I should get in touch with them, which I found odd since all my accounts are okay. After reading the comments on here, I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of scam. Got a call at 8.50 this morning, something felt a bit off so I didn’t pick up. The bloke on the phone was quite polite and asked some questions, but I didn’t feel comfortable answering. So, I got a call from someone saying they were from Nationwide about my credit card. When they started asking me security questions, I said I wasn’t comfortable answering without knowing the reason for their call. After that, they just ended the call.

If you're with Nationwide, this number definitely isn’t them. I’d recommend blocking it because they won’t reach out to you from here. What I did was just ring my bank using the number found on my bank statement to be sure.

Got a call from what sounded like a call centre. A woman with a strong accent said she was ringing about my Nationwide credit card. She said they needed to confirm some details first, so I asked again for an email so I could verify it was really Nationwide. Then she claimed I hadn’t passed their security checks and couldn't send me anything by email. That seemed very strange, so I told them I’d contact my local branch to see if the call was genuine, and then ended the call.
