Got a dodgy text this morning at about 8am dated 27/01/2024 claiming to be from BT. It said my account would be cut off 'cause of some unpaid bill. They gave a number 0800443311 to ring to sort out a possible discount. Also mentioned checking bt.com/help if you want more info. Definitely felt like a scam!

Got a text supposedly from BT saying my "service will be cut off because of unpaid fees". The message didn’t say who it was for or what service exactly, plus I’ve had no other word from BT. I logged into my account and everything’s paid up, just as I thought. The bt.com link they included looks legit and the number 0800443311 matches BT’s, but I reckon the number might be spoofed and could redirect somewhere dodgy (didn’t risk clicking it). Feels quite risky, honestly.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming he was from O2, saying he could slash my bill by half. I told him to get lost since I'd already had that call before and had checked with O2 who said it was just a scam. Sadly, O2 didn’t seem to care much about it!

03100262181 kept ringing me non stop. I picked up a few times but no one spoke. When I tried asking who they were, got no answer. Kept bothering me late into the night so I had to switch my phone off. I’m based in County Durham. Have now blocked and deleted the number.

i just got a call from 01527 453799 saying they were from bt and that i should ring 0800443321 right away to talk about my direct debit. but bt isn’t my provider anymore and i’m pretty sure all my payments are settled, so i stopped paying them a while ago. after reading the posts about that 0800443321 number, im convinced this is a scammer trying to trick people.

bt. my old dad keeps getting loads of calls from folks pretending to be bt. turns out they’re not genuine, and they’ve even sent a fake bill. “take a closer look” - the bill almost looks like a real bt one, but the logo is in the top right corner instead of the left. the colours are a bit off too, and the logo is bigger than usual. i called bt myself and they said it’s definitely a scam. always stand your ground with these calls, they hang up quick if you call them out. i’ve told my dad i’ll handle it from now on and to just ignore them entirely.

I got a message from “no number” called bt_sms, asking me to get in touch through the bt website (with a legit link) or ring this number 0800 443311. I didn’t call it, instead I used BT’s online chat and they told me “please just ignore that text, we never send messages like that and BT never calls or texts unless you’ve asked them to.” Then the agent said “no, we don’t have that number in our system. The number you got is a scam, so please don’t pay any attention to the details they sent you.” Does that sound alright?

I got an email asking me to pay a bill that I was already paid and even had credit on. They said it was a final notice but didnt have my name on it. They mentioned something about £18 for my phone which wasnt right as I thought it should have been £18 credit. I ignored it thinking it was a scam. Always check these emails properly and report them to bt.

like a few others mentioned, they said they were bt and were calling about my direct debit. she called me just by my last name, no mrs or miss beforehand, which seemed off to me. i pointed that out and she told me to ring back on the number that’s posted here - needless to say, i ended the call straight away.

I settled my phone bill on 06/07/2018, but then on 10/08/2018, I got a message from BT_SMS, which had no proper number attached to it. The message said I needed to pay my bill or else I'd be put on incoming calls only. They asked me to pay via bt.com/payment using my card or call 0800443311 for free. I found this odd because when I checked my BT account online, it showed no dues at all. So this text really seemed suspicious to me.
