I got a ring from this number today, claiming they needed to sort out my Sky payments. They wanted me to verify my date of birth. Naturally, I sent them packing! Definitely a scam - I reckon the call came from India. There was a strange vibe, like someone else was on another line, whispering instructions to the caller.

Got a call saying they were from Sky and were renewing my viewing card. I’m usually pretty blunt with these calls, so when the bloke asked for my address and said the old place, I told him I didn’t have Sky there, I had Virgin instead. Then I just hung up. Proper annoying scammers.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with Virgin. He gave out some ID number that Virgin themselves don’t recognise. Took my card details and sounded really convincing like he was the real deal. Then he kept ringing back non-stop, wouldn’t accept that I wasn’t interested. Proper dodgy.

Received a rather suspicious call on the 6th of December, 2017, from this number. An Asian lady claimed that my Virgin Media card required replacing to ensure it continued functioning. What struck me as particularly alarming was that she had the first four digits of my sort code and part of my debit card details. Exercise caution, folks!

Somebody rang saying they were Virgin wanting to update my card and offering a £32 discount. They asked for my sort code, but I told them I'd already got it saved since I pay by direct debit. Got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent claiming to be from Virgin Media, saying they were sending me a new router like I was already a customer. I told him I’m not with Virgin, but didn’t mention my actual provider. He said sorry and ended the call. If they think they’ll get my bank info, they’re having a laugh.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from Sky. He said my Sky box would stop working in 4 days and someone would visit on Saturday morning between 9 and 12 to set up Sky Q. He asked me to verify my details and what services I had so he could update the new box beforehand. Then he mentioned I was a pensioner and asked for my bank details. I told him that if he was really from Sky, he’d already have all that info, so I wasn’t giving it out. I hung up and later checked with Sky, who confirmed it was a scam. Really hope no elderly people fall for this and hand over their bank details.

Got a call from this number pretending to be Virgin, saying my viewing card was about to run out. They had my name and address and then wanted my DOB to 'verify me' so they could send a new card. Then they asked which bank my direct debit is from saying they could knock 30% off my bill. When I wouldn't give info, they tried pushing but ended up hanging up when I kept refusing. I’ve reported it to Virgin Media.

Today at 13:19 I got a call from a man who called himself Steven or Stephen, claiming to be from Virgin Media. He told me my Virgin box card was about to expire and that they were sending a new one. He sounded really genuine and nearly got me to give my bank details, but luckily my wife gave me a nudge and I realised it was a proper scam. I rang up Virgin and they confirmed it was fake. I also informed my bank straight away. Thankfully, scammers can’t get into your account just from a sort code, even if they’ve got your full name, address, and birthday.

I received a call purporting to be from Sky Television, claiming they were upgrading my card and offering a discount for seniors. They had an alarming amount of my personal information and insisted on needing my bank details to adjust my direct debit. The caller's accent suggested they might be from South Asia. I even got a couple of follow-up calls from a so-called supervisor trying to extract more information from me. Thankfully, I saw through their ruse and decided to have nothing to do with it!

A woman of Asian descent contacted me, clearly in possession of my personal information, which raises serious concerns about how she obtained it. She claimed to represent Virgin Media, insisting there was an urgent issue with my television service that required immediate financial intervention, suggesting something illegal was at play. The irony? I don't even use their service! I received multiple calls, all from the same number, featuring yet another Asian woman claiming to be from Sky TV. She informed me that my Sky card had expired, hence my television would cease to function unless I paid her to replace it. Complete nonsense, as I know that Sky cards don't work that way. The folks at Sky confirmed I should disregard her. To top it all off, she accused me of underpaying my taxes illegally, threatening me with a police arrest if I didn't cough up some cash. It’s absolutely outrageous and frankly distressing to be subjected to such fraudulent tactics repeatedly.
