Got a call back from Quizonia - apparently they still owe my missus £549 plus some interest or something!

I've fallen victim to Quizonia as well. Honestly, I can't believe I would ever sign up for something like that. They're taking money from me for a service that isn't even real! Looks like I might have to consider getting a new number altogether.

I’ve finally managed to opt out by texting ‘stop’, but they still owe me £129! So far, I've had no luck in getting it back, as the email address provided for submitting my phone bill seems to be a scam. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I had a rather peculiar phone call claiming I’d won £500 and that I’d receive an email regarding some daytime fees. Could someone clarify how I might go about obtaining my refund?
9 years
It took me four long months to finally put an end to those incessant charges from this number. I was being billed £3.75 weekly, which really added up! In the end, I had to get my mobile provider involved to halt the payments and secure a refund. They only took action after I threatened to escalate matters to OFTEL, which would have racked up a hefty £500 cost for them. In the battle of persistence, they chose the cheaper option and cancelled it.

I've recently spotted that my bill from 3 included an unexpected deduction of £9.45 on top of my regular charges. I reached out to 3 today, and to my surprise, they informed me that the charge was from Oxygen 8 communications, allegedly linked to Quizonia? They claimed I had signed up for it, which is simply untrue. Furthermore, they mentioned that I was unsubscribed on the 13th of February. Seeing as I was unwell and even had to spend time in hospital, there’s absolutely no way I could have done anything related to that. This feels like a scam and needs immediate attention! I had zero internet access during that time!

I've encountered the same situation as many others. Supposedly, my service provider has put a stop to the calls and refunded me the £25 that I was billed. I most certainly did NOT consent to this so-called quiz. It can't possibly be lawful; why on earth isn't it being shut down?

I’m at a bit of a loss on how to put a stop to the messages from this number. Any suggestions?

I'm proper annoyed getting these emails every bloody week sayin I'm signed up when I'm defo not. They tell me to text stop, which I keep doin, but nothing changes. My phone provider said every time I send stop, it costs me 10p, and that's pointless cos the messages just keep comin the next week. I’m wonderin, if I just start spamming their number, would that be like 4 pound 60 each time? Then if I don’t bother sendin stop messages, could that end up costin me a fortune? How on earth do I make them quit sending these annoying texts?
10 years
I’m absolutely weary of receiving these incessant emails claiming I'm a subscriber when, in fact, I'm not. They tell me to text STOP, which I’ve done repeatedly without any luck. My provider has mentioned that each STOP message could cost me 10 pence, which seems utterly pointless, especially since another message arrives every week without fail. I find myself wondering, if I were to flood this number with spam messages, would I end up racking up charges of £4.60 each time? That sounds like a recipe for a hefty bill if I choose to ignore sending STOP again, leading to a frightening total. Honestly, what on earth can I do to finally put an end to these ridiculous messages?

I'm encountering the same problems as mentioned earlier. I haven’t signed up for anything, yet I keep seeing a £4.50 charge each month. It's unbelievable! These fraudsters really ought to cancel these subscriptions immediately.

I've just noticed a charge of £18.00 from Quizonia on my account, broken down into four payments of £4.50 each. I certainly didn't authorise any of this. I've already shot off a text saying "STOP" to their number 66299, but I'm at a bit of a loss regarding how to retrieve my funds. Any guidance would be much appreciated!

I'm on a pay-as-you-go plan, and I've opted to halt texts numerous times, yet I keep receiving the same message week after week. I've never been billed for these. It’s time to send that number straight to the spam folder!
10 years
I've been receiving these texts regularly as well. They refer to the number mentioned above as their customer service line. However, what really irks me is that they neglect to mention in their messages that replying with 'STOP'-which I did after that initial message-will set me back around £3.50 plus VAT on my phone bill. It also seems that sending 'STOP' only stops messages for that month, implying that it's not considered a long-term unsubscribe option by their standards. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
10 years
I’ve been receiving these bothersome messages since the 8th of October in 2016. They seem to come in a rather irritating pattern: first five weeks apart until the 12th of November, then three weeks to the 3rd of December, followed by a week later on the 10th, and yet another week until the 17th of December. All of these dates just happen to land on a Saturday. It’s as if they deliberately choose the weekend to pester as many individuals as possible. I'm rather tempted to start billing them at a rate of £450 a day for the trouble they’ve caused me - perhaps that might make them think twice!

I've been sending "stop" to this number for ages now, yet every fortnight, the same annoying message pings into my inbox. I’m really at my wits' end trying to get these texts to cease. I've just had another message from these people-it's the second time now! I can assure you, I've never registered for anything with them. I recommend popping over to your service provider and asking them to put a stop to those charges. Better safe than sorry!

I've had three messages in the last three months, and on the first occasion, I didn’t pay much attention and ended up being charged £4.50. Now, I’ve started replying with 'STOP' to the number they gave me, which seems to do the trick. However, it’s looking like this will turn into a monthly nuisance. I never opted into this service, and I'm at a loss as to how to stop this number from reaching me altogether.

About three months back, I began receiving messages from this dreadful outfit. Previously, I’d been caught off guard with a hefty bill, so upon receiving their first text, I promptly replied with "stop," though I was uncertain if that did the trick, as acknowledging it could potentially allow them to continue bothering me. Sure enough, another message popped up the following month. I contacted my mobile provider and had them block all premium numbers, yet astonishingly, I still received another one this month. This situation is really quite distressing; I can’t fathom how these people can rest easy knowing the havoc they wreak. Any advice on how to tackle this would be greatly appreciated!

I've had three texts over the last three months. The first one, I overlooked and ended up being billed £4.50. Now, I've started replying with "STOP" to the number that’s been messaging me, which seems to do the trick, but it appears I'm stuck with a monthly message. I've never subscribed to this nonsense and I'm at a loss for how to prevent these messages from coming through.

I've reached out to Quizonia numerous times via email. To date, I've incurred charges amounting to £62.50, and I'm seeking a refund for this payment. However, after each attempt to contact them, I find that my emails appear in the sent items, yet I'm met with a bounce-back notification claiming the email address is unrecognised and undeliverable. I'm at a bit of a loss here about my next steps!

I had no idea I was even signed up for Quizonia until I noticed my bill was a tad heftier than expected. They've managed to take £36 from me for absolutely nowt! I've no clue how I ended up "subscribing" in the first place. It's a right stitch-up! Just sent a stop message to 66299.

I recently had a bit of a shock with my Vodafone pay-as-you-go plan; it felt rather pricey, to say the least. I received a message informing me that I was subscribed to quizonia.com, which I promptly disregarded. However, after some time, I decided to investigate further and was astounded to discover that every week, £4.50 was being deducted from my balance! I hardly ever use my phone for internet browsing, and I certainly didn’t sign up for this service. How on earth do they manage to pull this off without facing any consequences? It just doesn’t seem right!

I got this message on my phone last month but never signed up for anything. I replied with stop straight away, yet now it's popped up again a month later even though I followed the instructions in the message. Am I actually being charged £4.50 when I never agreed to it and told them to stop? How can I completely block these messages?

I keep receiving emails from (quizoia) demanding £4.50 each week for something I never signed up for. I tried sending a stop message to 66299 but it’s still costing me £4.50. Now I can’t add any credit to my phone as they keep taking funds. I’ve attempted to call Vodafone for assistance, but haven’t been able to reach anyone. I could really use some guidance as a pensioner; this hassle from these dodgy folks is the last thing I need!

I keep getting charged £4.50 a week for some trivia service from Submit Media BV. It’s a subscription billed via a shared shortcode, so it’s kinda confusing because other firms use the same code too. If you wanna talk to them, their customer service number is 0330 332 6254. Be careful with these hidden fees!

Trivia Winners offers a quiz game where you can win prizes, but it uses a shared shortcode 66299 that multiple companies share. The cost for this service is £4.50 per week, VAT included. Because it’s billed through this shared shortcode, it’s hard to tell which company you’re actually paying at times.

Just got a message from Quiznia claiming I've signed up for a weekly service costing £4.50. I've no clue how they obtained my number, and I definitely didn't agree to any subscription. Apparently, they want £4.50 to cancel it as well. This is outrageous and feels like a total con!

I've found myself in a rather similar predicament as others have mentioned here. On the 10th of September, 2016, I received a rather unwelcome text through something called FREEMSG, informing me that I had signed up for a Quizonia trivia subscription, costing me £4.50 a week. I was taken aback, as I cannot recall ever agreeing to this. After following the instructions to cancel the subscription by texting STOP to 66299, I was dismayed to receive yet another message about it on the 15th of October, and one again today, the 29th of October. The messages seem to arrive every second Saturday morning, almost like clockwork, which makes me suspect they are programmed to do so. I've tried reaching out to their helpline at 0800 4080781, as per the instructions in the texts, but to no avail. I'm now considering getting some professional advice on what steps I should take next.

I’ve fallen victim to this dodgy outfit too, despite never having signed up for anything in the first place. They sent me a text and had the audacity to deduct £4.50 from my balance for the “honour.” I replied with ‘stop’ and found myself hit with a fee for that as well! It’s utterly outrageous that you can be charged for unsolicited messages, and it’s infuriating that mobile providers turn a blind eye while they cash in on the profits!

I've had a similar experience myself. They left me a voicemail stating that my subscription had been successfully cancelled. Along with that, they provided this number: 0800 408 0781, and it turns out they’re processing a refund of £36.00 for me. I'd suggest giving that number a ring and selecting option 3 to sort things out!

I got rather excited when I stumbled across what I believed was a competition for a new mobile phone on the Argos website. To my dismay, it turned out to be a trick orchestrated by Quizonia.
