My laptop suddenly popped up a message with a voice saying I should ring 08004049468. I just shut the screen and switched the computer off. This is the second time this week I've had this happen here in Ely. It's really worrying and quite disturbing.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, saying my computer had a virus. They were trying to get me to ring them back and share my personal info. Definitely felt like a scam.

Got a dodgy recorded call about my internet being cut off, urging me to press 1 or 2. Don’t fall for it - it’s not from your provider and could just end up charging you some crazy premium rate if you do as it says. Best just to ignore it entirely.
