Hey everyone, just wanted to share I got this same message saying 'Call your provider right away' and to avoid replying. Turns out it's probably a scam from some third party! I rang up EE and they ended up cancelling the whole thing and gave me a refund, so definitely stay cautious!

Got a message from 64546 saying I’d signed up for games at £4.50 a week, which I definitely never did. Sent a stop text right away, not even 20 seconds after getting the message. Then found out I’d actually been charged the £4.50 anyway. The number connected to that message is 08004049162. I got in touch with EE, and they told me that sending a TEXT with the word STOP is the way to get a cancellation message. EE said these services wait up to 24 hours before they're allowed to charge you anything, so if you unsubscribe within that period, they shouldn’t be able to take any money. I’d recommend ringing your network provider to check if there’s any active subscription linked to your phone number. (This all started because of some sponsored link that popped up on Facebook.)

I was scrolling through a bunch of news stories on Facebook when suddenly, out of nowhere, a "subscribe" prompt popped up after like 6 or 7 clicks. Honestly, it’s clear they’ve got this down to a fine art. I quickly sent STOP back to the number and got in touch with my provider. Thankfully, they’ve blocked any subscriptions for me now. I haven’t been charged the £4.50 yet, which the rep said was unusual, because usually the fee hits your account straight away. Definitely feels like a total clickbait scam.

I had the same thing happen! My network, which is EE, was really helpful sorting it all out. They put a stop to those charges straight away and helped me get all my cash back. Definitely don't just let it go - contact your provider and see if they can help you get your money back too! Don’t let them off the hook!

Watch out for a con linked to BestMobileDownloads. They snag your phone number through a sneaky trick - remember that blank page that loads before the real site? It’s some thing called Payforit that grabs your info, and there are hidden buttons that basically sign you up to expensive premium services without you knowing.

They cover their tracks using the name IDNA, and their "customer support" email is [email protected]. If you get a number from them, don't just ignore it! Send the word STOP to 64546 right away - it won’t cost you a penny. If you don’t do this, they’ll charge you £4.50 every week. They’ll also claim you agreed to it, and might try to bribe you with a refund if you give them your PayPal or bank details - don’t fall for it. I’ve told Facebook about this scam too, but it looks like they haven’t done anything to shut it down yet.

Honestly, total rip off! Don’t just brush off the text message. They went ahead and took money from my account this morning. Luckily, I managed to block any third-party payments on my O2 account after that. I rang O2 straight away and they’re sorting me out with a refund now!

Finally got this all figured out. You either need to text them back with STOP, or give them a ring on that number and demand a refund. If you don’t do something, they keep taking money from you. This isn’t some prank message. The support team was quite decent, told me I should see my refund in about 3 weeks.
