Some dodgy scammers from India have been using this bt landline and broadband number to make fake calls. They target businesses familiar with the number, hoping to trick them. If you get one of these scam calls, make sure you report it to the police. Just look up 'action fraud' on Google, pick the 'police.uk' site, and fill out the phishing report - you don’t even have to sign up or anything.

Got a call from some Indian scammers. I pretended to be clueless for about 20 minutes just to waste their time. They claimed to be from BT but it was obvious straight away it was a fake call. Not falling for it!

I’m based in Plymouth and I’m a Virgin Media customer. Got this automated voice from a woman saying there’s a router issue and my service will be cut off in four hours. It told me to press 1 to chat with customer support for a replacement router, but as soon as I pressed the button the call just dropped. Weird!
