Received a call today, 2nd June 2010, with the same type of message. No company name mentioned, just a woman named Daniels. Tried to call back, but it didn't go through. Definitely feels like a scam!

Received a call in German, notifying me that another client has commissioned this company to secure a web domain with a name that’s identical to ours. It’s essential that they inform us about this potential clash. Yet, they need to proceed with the registration "imminently"-within the next twenty minutes, no less! The only way for us to claim those domains is to purchase them ourselves, and that needs to happen promptly. It’s worth noting that we won’t receive any formal documentation regarding the sale-neither by post nor via fax. To top it off, the price they’re quoting is a staggering four times higher than what other registrars typically charge for domain registration.

On the 16th of December, 2010, it appears that Ms. Daniels is still in the game! She was inquiring about the registration of a domain that we have already registered through our firm. Curiously, she refused to provide a telephone number or put her request into writing. When I attempted to connect her with our legal representative, she just hung up without a word. Quite the character!
