Got a call from a bloke asking if he could remotely access my PC while I was in the middle of activating a brand new Norton licence key. I said no thanks, and he just hung up. Turns out the key had already been used by someone else and I kept getting an error when trying to install it.

I attempted to set up my Norton antivirus, but encountered some trouble. After being directed to a certain website, my phone started ringing. An Indian gentleman on the other end informed me that my installation wouldn't be possible due to the absence of a firewall on my network. He offered to install one for £129, but when I expressed that I couldn't possibly stretch to that, he suddenly lowered the price. That’s when my suspicions were raised, and I decided to switch off my laptop for several hours. When I finally tried again, it installed without any issues. I'll definitely be a lot more cautious the next time I tackle this!

I almost fell into the trap of a Norton scammer while attempting to set up antivirus protection. An Indian chap rang me up, insisting I install a Google Chrome extension from a pop-up chat on a Norton site. It was rather alarming! Just a heads up, everyone! Once I figured out his intentions were a bit off, I conjured up an excuse about needing to leave the house. His eagerness to find out when I'd return for another chat was a bit too suspect for my liking! Stay alert, folks!

Earlier today, as I was attempting to set up Norton Security on my laptop, an error popped up. Almost immediately after, I received a call on my landline from a chap claiming to be from Norton. He explained the issues I was having and offered to send a Microsoft technician to sort it out - all for the tidy sum of £129. Additionally, he mentioned that I would have to pay extra for Norton antivirus installation. Feeling rather dubious, I decided to terminate the conversation but told him he could ring me again the next day. Since then, I've been inundated with calls from that number, all of which I've chosen to ignore.

While I was in the process of reinstalling Norton Security on my computer, an error popped up. To my surprise, shortly after, my landline rang and a chap claiming to be from Norton called me. He offered a very technical explanation about why the software was misbehaving and suggested that he could put me in touch with a 'colleague' who was 'Microsoft Qualified.' However, there was a catch - it was going to cost me a one-off fee of £129 to resolve the issue. I politely declined when I told him that there was absolutely no way I was granting anyone remote access to my device. In a moment of insight, I decided to search through the Norton website and stumbled upon a program known as 'Norton Remove and Reinstall.' I ran it and, lo and behold, the problem was sorted out! I share this in hopes that it prevents someone else from jumping to conclusions too hastily.

I contacted Norton to input a code on my other device (I have ten in total), and was promptly redirected to this phone number. I explained that Norton wasn't functioning on my computer. The chap on the line claimed it was an issue with the website. He took remote control of my system and requested that I stay on hold while he reviewed the details. I could see him examining various aspects of my computer. He inquired about another email address linked to my account. Then he informed me that the only way to resolve the issue was to download a specific program. I questioned whether he meant for me to purchase it online, and he confirmed that it was essential for rectifying the situation. When I asked about the cost, he quoted £199 for a year or a whopping £495 for a lifetime subscription. I politely declined, and then my screen returned to the Norton homepage.

While I was in the midst of setting up Norton Security on my laptop, I encountered an error message. Just half a minute later, my landline rang, and a chap claiming to be from Norton was on the other end. He proceeded to explain the reasons behind the software malfunction, though his technical jargon completely flew over my head, given my limited knowledge of computers. Feeling quite out of my depth, I decided to hang up when he asked if he could take control of my screen. It’s better to exercise caution these days. On a positive note, I've never faced issues with Norton during previous software renewals.

While I was in the midst of setting up Norton Security on my laptop, an error popped up. Almost immediately, my landline rang, and a chap claiming to be from Norton was on the other end. He went into a rather complex explanation about why the software wasn't functioning properly. To be honest, I struggle with all this tech stuff, and I couldn't make heads or tails of what he was saying. Eventually, I decided to end the conversation when he requested my consent to take control of my computer. It all seemed a bit dodgy to me, especially when I saw him manoeuvring his cursor on my screen.

I’ve been getting calls from this number ever since I was pointed towards a site to set up some antivirus software that I bought in a shop, but it wouldn’t install properly. The person on the line suggested I purchase a different antivirus solution from their firm. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
