I received three requests for Argos gift cards through PayPal, totalling a staggering £899. Instead of ringing the number, I opted to cancel the requests directly through PayPal. The name associated with the requests is apparently Stanley Burrell.

A bit of a twist on what’s been shared before. I received a notification via the PayPal app about a payment demand directed to one Carlos Jimenez, stating: 'Your transaction of £989.00 GBP for Tether (USDT) via PayPal has been successfully completed. Should this payment ring no bells or you wish to dispute it, kindly get in touch with our Customer Service at +44-800-368-0801.' I’ve since cancelled the request and blocked the user.

This number won’t stop ringing me, but as soon as I try to return the call, they cut off right away. Quite frustrating, to say the least!

I can’t help but feel this email is a complete scam! It had this number right at the top. They’re asking me to ring it to confirm some dodgy payment or transaction related to my PayPal account. What a load of nonsense!

To my dismay, they had an alarming amount of personal information about me and even sent security texts to my phone that mimicked PayPal notifications. Before making the call, I had taken the precaution of cancelling the transaction and removing my bank details. However, when they requested my credit card information, I realised I hadn't brought it along. They then proceeded to ask for verification on three different cards ending in certain digits, which understandably left me puzzled. Suddenly, the line went dead quiet and it dawned on me that I had fallen victim to a scam. It’s a grim reminder that even someone like me, who prides themselves on being sharp, can be caught off guard by such cunning tactics. 🥲

I was recently targeted by a crafty scammer pretending to be PayPal under the name “David Allen.” They attempted to fleece me for £649, claiming it was for some Kaspersky Security services. There’s a con artist posing as a PayPal representative, going by the name “Heath Duhon.” Best to refuse any requests for money, block this number immediately, and report it to PayPal. Avoid any calls from this number at all costs!

I had a rather similar experience. The caller divulged quite a bit of personal information, including my bank card details, which set alarm bells ringing. Then, just as they prompted me to verify a transaction via my banking app, the conversation abruptly ceased. It seems they were probing for a larger sum after chatting with someone at my bank. Quite the crafty scheme, especially since the email I received appeared to be from PayPal.co.uk.
