Just received a flurry of emails - six in less than two minutes! The first one from a chap named Jesse Mcleod, attempting to prompt a financial transfer. Here's an excerpt from Jesse's note: "ALERT: A fraudulent transaction has been reported, with an amount of £899.99 debited from your account. For details, kindly ring us at +44-800-368-3931." Details of the payment request: - Transaction ID: U-3LW005368B892502F - Date of the transaction: 9th December 2022 - Requested amount: £899.99 GBP ----------------------------------------------------------------- I've promptly blocked the sender and the number, considering I've not touched PayPal in over five years!

Greetings from Northern Ireland! Just wanted to share my recent brush with a rather sophisticated scam that caught me off guard. On the 9th of December, I received an email purporting to be from PayPal, and I must say, it was exceptionally crafted. I promptly checked my PayPal account and found the payment request in question, which I swiftly cancelled. Curious, I decided to ring the number provided, only to be met with a rather posh English voice declaring the "line was not operational at this time." It was a message from one Holly Horan, stating: “Dear User, You've been billed for ESET NOD32 at a whopping £349.87. If this charge isn’t familiar to you, please reach out to PayPal Customer Support at +44-800-368-3931.” Here are the particulars of the money request: Transaction ID: U-40T621392W9587234 Date of transaction: 9 December 2022 Requested amount: £349.87 Stay vigilant, everyone!

I'm currently in Greece, and I’ve had a similar experience. I received what appeared to be a genuine email from PayPal regarding gift cards for Decathlon worth £649.99. I decided to ignore the request and promptly reported it to PayPal. When I phoned the number provided, I encountered a bunch of fraudsters in an Asian call centre. Best to just avoid it and decline any such requests altogether!

Scam alert regarding PayPal! They attempted to siphon off £699 from my account. I was almost duped into ringing this number. Just your run-of-the-mill Indian call centre trickery, if you ask me. Luckily, I wised up just in time and put a stop to it by blocking my card after noticing the barrage of intrusive questions they were throwing my way.

I received three emails notifying me that an attempt to charge £649.99 for a Decathlon gift card was underway. I promptly accessed my app and rejected the transactions as they were clearly fraudulent. I called the number listed in the app, but their security questions raised my suspicions, and I decided to end the call. As a precaution, I've put a hold on all my cards for the time being.
