Total scam, no doubt about it. At first glance, the number seemed legit, very clever on their part. They pretended to be from Nationwide and actually knew both mine and my partner’s names since we share a joint account. I decided not to pick up that number and instead rang the legit Nationwide number (03457302011). They told me it was genuine. Apparently, they call customers who’ve been overdrawn for a while or who've gone over a set limit, just checking if they’re doing alright financially and understand the fees. Out of the blue, I received a rather unexpected call. When I picked up, there was nothing but silence on the other end, so I decided to hang up. They seemed keen to assist, but abruptly the call was terminated. Then, a Scottish lady got in touch, asking for my bank details. Naturally, I was sceptical and questioned how I could be assured it wasn’t a scam. Her response was to suggest I call the number on the back of my card or pop into my local branch, which felt like an underhanded attempt to put me at ease. I’m quite old-fashioned and nearly gave in just to avoid seeming rude, but I firmly told her that I would be heading to my bank instead. She remained courteous throughout. When I arrived at the bank, they promptly informed me it was indeed a scam and verified that nothing unusual had occurred with my account. Fortunately for me, they’ll be the ones stuck paying off my overdraft as I’m brassic after settling my bills-such a laugh!

They was claiming to be from a national bank. Left a message with my bank details when I didn’t pick up. I checked with my bank and they said they never called me.

Definitely not covering the whole country. Got 2 calls and a message in just one day, and the text even showed the last 4 numbers of my card. I’ve blocked them and reported it.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Nationwide, insisting there was an urgent matter with my bank account. Luckily, I refrained from sharing any personal information. Afterward, I got in touch with Nationwide directly, and they assured me that there had been no outreach from their end. Just a word of caution!

Got a call from 08003287807 today. It was one of those automated messages that actually said my name and said it was an urgent call from Nationwide. The voice told me to press a number to go on, but I just ended the call straight away. Checked with Nationwide myself and they said they haven’t been trying to call me at all.

I got a call from this number, sounded quite normal and polite. When I asked if it was a scam, the woman said I could ring the number on the back of my card to check, and said her name was Sophie. I rang Nationwide to check and they told me this is definitely a scammer’s number, so don’t trust it at all!

I looked into it and never got a call from Nationwide. This has to be a scam, so just hang up and don’t press any buttons. I even have a separate texts thread from Nationwide showing their real number. If you’re unsure, better to double check yourself x

Got two calls within half an hour and even a text too. Left it on voicemail and heard a robotic message asking me to press any key to speak to someone. I rang Nationwide myself after seeing folks on here saying it’s a genuine number, but they told me it’s not them. So yeah, it’s definitely a SCAM. Anyone claiming it’s for real is probably part of the scam too.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Nationwide, asking for my sort code and account details. When I asked why they were ringing, they said it was about my overdraft. I asked how I could be sure it was really Nationwide and they told me to ring customer services and call back. Had a look up the number and it's a total scam. Didn’t give them any info, don’t give them anything, just hang up and get in touch with your bank and block the number.
