Got a text from the DWP about my pension, but when I checked with my bank, they said it was returned. Pretty confusing situation. Anyone else had something like this happen?

Today I got a call on my mobile from someone saying they were with the DWP and asking about my mum’s payments. They mentioned there’d been some changes to her account and wanted to chat with her to confirm some details. Apparently, they’re sending a letter out soon, so I’m just waiting to see what that says. They also gave me another number to ring back on. As far as I know, the payments are all current. I rang the number they gave me and it sounds like it’s DWP, but I’m still not sure if it’s legit or just a scam?

This is certainly not an authentic number from the DWP. Do not be deceived by any messages claiming your benefit payments are being returned by the bank. And honestly, the individual who suggested this is a legitimate DWP LEASON number clearly needs a refresher on their spelling skills!
