I got a call from Tesco head office, the number's totally legit. NatWest and RBS were having problems so my payment wouldn’t go through. I tried other cards but eventually they were kind enough to ring me back and tell me to ignore it because the payment had finally gone through. They also explained it wasn’t Tesco’s fault but the bank’s systems acting up again.

This number is totally Tesco’s. I kept getting stuck on their website, going through about 15 error pages that all said something like “it’s us not you” (which honestly reminded me of my last breakup). After ending up in hospital in a rush, I needed to cancel my order since I wouldn’t be home. Because the website wasn’t working, I had to ring them up instead, and this was the number I called. Definitely not a scam or spam - it’s the place you grab your bacon and eggs from!

This is definitely Tesco calling. I really don’t get the people here who claim it’s not! This number is listed on the Money Saving Expert site. If you check “Should I Answer,” 49 users have all confirmed it’s Tesco. I think folks should do a bit of digging before posting that it’s some other company when it’s pretty obvious it’s not.

Just to add to what I said earlier, I had to put in my card info again because the payment for my order didn’t go through first time. I’ve looked at my bank statement and Tesco in Hull have definitely taken the money, so everything’s legit. Nothing dodgy or fraudulent happening here like some people have suggested!

Someone rang me pretending to be from Tesco, saying there were dodgy transactions on my credit card. They wanted my card info and £1 to block it, which felt off, so I ended the call and dialed Tesco using the number on my card. They told me it was a scam and I immediately cancelled my card. It all sounded quite real until they asked for my security details. WATCH OUT!!! Never share your card info with anyone who phones you out of the blue.
