Got a call at 8 this mornin. I told the bloke straight away I wasn’t interested in what he had to say and that ringing so early was just plain rude. Was lucky I kept calm cos I’d had a terrible night with my husband, who’s only just out the hospital and still not great. Already told SP loads of times I don’t want a smart meter, especially after they kinda forced their way in last year, saying my husband agreed to it. Luckily I got back quick and kicked them out before they could fit it.

I’m in the same boat as the person who wrote on 11/07/2019: I stopped being a Scottish Power customer last year due to their poor service and the rubbish job done by Providor, their meter installer, who’s now ringing me up. I don’t want a smart meter, and even if I did, there’s no way I’d get it through either of those awful firms. You lot are hopeless, so just leave people alone!

Received a call from this number on my mobile. From what I gather in the remarks, it appears to be related to smart meters. I'm currently with Shell Energy and have previously dealt with Scottish Power. During both tenures, I've been bombarded by persistent smart meter salespeople. Now, I solely use my mobile to keep track of nuisance calls. This way, I can avoid the bother altogether. This particular number is just another entry in my blocked list, as it seems to be employing the same old routines. From what I've seen, it's practically impossible to opt out of smart meters. Each time I've tried to refuse through my energy supplier, it hasn’t put an end to the relentless calls from third parties pushing smart meters.

I've repeatedly informed SSE that I’m not interested in having a smart meter fitted until the technology sees some proper advancements. There's little use in having an outdated smart meter that isn't transferable between suppliers. Yet, I find myself still receiving these pesky calls!

The service from the provider working with Scottish Power was spot on. They took the hassle out of submitting meter readings for me, and FYI, those smart meters only collect the meter readings, nothing else. I’m quite wary about what tech comes into my home, so before booking, I asked for a callback to thoroughly confirm if the smart meter they fit would be safe and compatible. After all the checks, I went ahead and scheduled the installation. Now I’m just waiting for the smart meters to be fitted!

they rang me today about smart meters. i’ve already emailed scottish power's complaints team to say i dont want one, as they cant give me the answers i need about the radio signals these meters use and how it might be affected by my own devices. i’m getting pretty annoyed with all this now.

Answerd the call and saw the number, looked like it was from Scottish Power, my pricey energy company. The person on the line said I shouldn’t get a smart meter, so I’m not going for one. Funny enough, the call ended just as I answered.

I've asked them loads of times to quit ringing me and erase my info. Still, they’re on the blower almost daily. Had to block 'em now, but from what I gather here, they'll just try a different number next. Proper muppets trying to shove faulty smart meters down your throat. Absolute bullies!!!

Scottish Power, how cheeky of them to share my info without asking! I was already thinking of cancelling with them, but now I’m definitely gonna sort it out faster! Tried blocking three different numbers but they just ring again from a new one. If i wanted a smart meter, I would have replied to the original email they sent me, right? The fact I haven’t got back to them means I’m not interested. Calling nearly every day isn’t gonna change anything!! Proper pushy behaviour. Fingers crossed they don’t have endless 0800 numbers, it’s getting really annoying.

Got calls from a company claiming to be working for Scottish Power, but they somehow got my details and passed them on without asking me first. I asked them to leave me alone, but they keep ringing every single day. Does anyone know where I can make a complaint about this? It’s really not on.

Had some "provider" trying to trick me into getting a smart meter fitted. Told the bloke to jog on and hung up straight away. Properly annoying call, and that rubbish about "our engineers being nearby" is total bull.

Scottish Power have set another date for installing this smart meter I never asked for. Tried calling them to complain but they just said it’s a third party doing the installation and refused to take my complaint. When I pressed them it was like they couldn’t decide if it was their own company or a third party. Feels like a con to force these useless smart meters on us. Done with Scottish Power now.

Got a call from Scottish Power or maybe some 3rd party (I'll try to check next time they ring). It was all about smart meters, which I'm gonna say no to again on the next call. Thinking of contacting SP directly and telling them if they keep ringing, I'll switch to a different energy company.

I keep receiving these incessant calls which are nothing but irritating cold calls from some random company. They've obviously obtained my information without any consent or discussion beforehand. Their aim seems to be to pressure or persuade me into accepting the installation of the now outdated version of smart meters. Let's be clear, nobody is obligated to go through with this until it’s made a legal requirement for every home to have one installed.

I made it pretty clear to Scottish Power that I don’t want a smart meter, but they keep ringing me anyhow. Anyone who doesn’t see that as harassment is either a bit thick or just doesn’t get that SP ignore your wishes. When you say no to something, you should be able to expect they’ll stop pestering you, right? I even filled in an online form specifically saying I don’t want a new meter, yet here they are still phoning me about it. Like others have mentioned, why do they think they can keep calling me? I’m just gonna keep blocking their numbers until they run out.

I’ve had loads of calls from Scottish Power trying to push me into getting a smart meter. They just don’t stop! Every time I block one number, they ring from a different one. True, you’re not forced by law to get a smart meter, and honestly, there’s a few downsides - like you could get stuck with them. Plus, I’ve heard that smart meters aren’t super secure and might be hacked. Not keen, really.

Every day I keep getting calls from Scottish Power pestering me about installing a smart meter. I can read my own meter just fine, thank you, and don’t need them telling me how much energy I should use. I'm definitely not daft or oblivious.
