Got a letter printed on Lloyd’s bank paper asking me to send in documents to confirm my car insurance and gave a phone number to call for more details. Never taken out any insurance with Lloyd’s so I didn’t bother ringing. Definitely looks like a scam.

Yep, it's definitely another scam letter. The grammar is awful and the whole thing looks really dodgy. Just chuck it in the bin!

Got a message pretending to be from my car insurer asking me to send over documents to 'verify' my policy. Feels like a scam to me, can anyone confirm if real companies usually ask for this stuff through text or email? Just want to be sure before I send anything.

Got a letter dated 7th Feb 2017, looks just like what others have mentioned here. It says it's from Zenith motor insurance validation team asking me to send over a bunch of docs: drivers licence, proof of no claims bonus, all pages of my V5, a recent utility bill, and a DVLA driver licence summary check code - all within 7 days or they say the policy will be cancelled from day one. Thing is, I've never had insurance with Zenith and the supposed 'policy number' they've given doesn’t match any of my current or past policies. Feels like a classic scam to me.

Like others have been saying, this call was from RAC Insurance...same story really.

The letter claimed to be from Halifax but I didn't bother ringing the number provided since I hadn’t signed up for any insurance lately. Instead, I contacted Halifax directly using the number on their official website to let them know about the fake policy.

I got a letter at my work address from a firm called "M&S Insurance", asking me to provide personal info for a car insurance deal - something I had no clue about. The letter claimed I had only 7 days from the issue date to submit this info, or my policy would be cancelled. Problem is, I never signed up with them in the first place, so it made no sense. The letter included the number 08003164120, so I gave them a ring. They wanted me to confirm my first name, last name, and DOB to go any further. After checking, they said the details didn't match their records. When I told them I knew nothing about this supposed policy, they told me it was fine to just ignore their letter.
