I’m not sure who called me, but I’ve heard people say it might be the AA. I got a cheap AA Recovery package plus insurance through a comparison website recently. The insurance isn’t supposed to renew automatically, but like many recovery services, it does. I cancelled my direct debit to avoid this, yet they still sent a letter asking me to update my details. So I guess this call is from them. I’m not keen to call back though, since you always get stuck with the exit survey and they record your voice 'for training purposes' or whatever. Honestly, they should scrap forced auto-renewals and stop making us ring up to cancel when the whole thing was sorted online in the first place.

From what I've seen in the comments, this seems to be the AA calling. I've just got car insurance with them, so if they need to get in touch, they should properly speak to me instead of ringing and then just hanging up like some childish prank. If they keep this up, I'm seriously thinking of dropping them and switching to a more professional company. This sort of nonsense doesn't inspire any confidence in a firm I’m supposed to rely on if something goes wrong on the road.
