The phone rang and when I picked up, the caller immediately hung up. I checked the number and it seemed legit, probably from the DWP. So I rang them back and got an automated message that said I’d missed a call from the DWP and they’d call me again if needed. Thing is, I hadn’t missed their call, I answered it right away. I said hello but before I could speak, they disconnected me. What’s the point of these calls if it really is the DWP? I’ve just marked this number as neutral because even though the message claims it’s them, how can I trust it when they hang up right away?

Got a call from someone called Maximus, said he was an assessor for DWP PIP claims. He told me it was just a paper-based assessment but needed to ask some extra questions. I said okay but the call went on for more than half an hour, felt more like an unplanned phone assessment. Then they rang back the next day with even more questions. I wasn’t impressed as I wasn’t told in advance and couldn’t record the call myself, which I could’ve done if I’d known it was coming. Over 30 minutes isn’t really just a few quick questions!

Got a legit ring from someone checking bits I’d missed out on my DWP form. They asked stuff that only would be known if they had the actual paper form in front of them. No way this was a scam, proper genuine call for sure.

I tried calling a couple of times but my phone kept blocking the number, probably thinking it was some kinda scam. So I gave up since it wouldn’t even ring through. Then I started using the TRUECALLER app on my phone, and set it up to block unknown numbers and those hidden ones in the settings. It works pretty well - whenever someone not in my contacts rings, it just says they’re busy or on another line. If the number isn’t saved, it’s instantly blocked. I actually use a modded APK version you can find online, which gives you the full premium features without paying.

I am waiting for the doctor to call me within the next few hours, as I am unwell. I thought it was the doctor calling, then panicked that the doctor may try to call while I am on the phone and I will miss my chance. I thought it might be a scam as well because I didn’t receive a text message from them about this call. Then I considered that they may have got the appointment day wrong after looking up the number.

I got two calls from this number, the second one left a voicemail asking if I was still coming to my appointment. The woman didn’t say what company she was with, just gave her name as Macklin and asked me to ring her back on 0300929835. Tried calling but the number didn’t go through at all.
