I received a call from someone with an American accent, who claimed I’d won money in a national lottery. Strangely, they knew both my name and my address. After that, the line just fell silent. We hung up, but then the phone wouldn’t give a dial tone, so we ended up disconnecting it and plugging it back in. Thankfully, it seems to be working fine now. Does anyone have any idea about this number?

I just had a call from this number, but when I picked up, there was absolutely nobody on the other end. We tried calling back to find out who it was, and all we got was a recorded message saying that the number we dialled wasn’t acknowledged. Quite puzzling, really!

I received a missed call and decided to ring 1471 for the details, but when I tried to call this number back, it just went dead. Seems to me like yet another dodgy character trying to get in touch.

Received a call earlier today, the 3rd of September, 2008. It seems to be the same American-sounding voice as before, trying to make a connection. The tone and ring are spot on like the one we moaned about the other day, albeit from a different 0800 number. Quite the coincidence, isn’t it?
