They seemed to know loads about Barclays and the app, even gave me steps to follow to get my card cancelled. But while I was still chatting to them, I checked the Barclays app myself and quickly spotted they were trying to scam me.

He said he was from Barclays, but as soon as I mentioned calling their fraud team, he just ended the call!

Earlier today, I got a call from this number, and the bloke said he was from the Barclaycard fraud team. Apparently, my card had been put on hold because of some suspicious activity that supposedly happened earlier. I found it a bit dodgy straight away, mainly because the guy was so bad at speaking, I couldn’t imagine Barclaycard letting someone sound so clueless handle these calls. After about half a minute, I just ended the call. He tried ringing me again, but I didn’t pick up. No more calls since then.
I checked my bank accounts and everything seemed normal, so I’m pretty sure it was just a scam attempt.

Got a call from someone saying they were with M&S Bank's credit card fraud team. They started asking about my other bank accounts which felt really dodgy. Turns out this is connected to a scam involving a fake text about Royal Mail delivery fees. I lost over £2000 from my card and savings because of it. Definitely do NOT trust this number. Instead, find a different contact number for your bank’s customer service or fraud department and ring them up to be safe.

The caller pretends to be from a bank’s fraud department (sometimes M&S) and tries to trick you into giving away money. A relative of mine got caught up in it just last week. Best advice: don’t trust the number they call from. Instead, look up your bank’s official number on their website and ring them directly to verify.

Got three calls from these guys. I looked over my account and everything seemed alright. I told the bloke on the phone that I’d just checked online while we spoke. After that, he just ended the call and I haven't heard from them since.
