I received a phone call where they insisted on knowing my full name. When I inquired about who was on the line, they repeated the request for my details, which struck me as rather dodgy-almost like a trap! I opted not to divulge my name and pointed out that they were the ones who rang me first. Despite my insistence, they pressed on, insisting it was related to a business issue, yet refused to share any further information. I found the caller quite abrupt and rude, and I can't help but question why, if they’re the ones making the call, they wouldn’t already know who I am. If they don’t, then how on earth did they get my number? Eventually, I discovered the call was linked to Provident!

Pretty much the same situation here-picked up the call only to have them hang up on me. No clue who it was, and they didn’t bother to call back, either. Quite baffling, really!

Provident called me and refused to say who they were, but wanted me to give them my details first. That’s not how it works at all. After a quick search, I figured out who they were. Can you believe they'd not say who they are but expect you to hand over your info straight away? Definitely not a friendly check-in, it’s their debt collection team for sure.

I received a call from this number, and the person on the other end refused to divulge their identity. They claimed it was for security reasons, which I find absolutely ridiculous. There’s no valid justification for Provident to keep their identity a secret; after all, I have every right to know who is ringing my phone. Had they simply introduced themselves, I would have been more than willing to engage in conversation with them-caller was Provident.

Got a call today, but I’ve decided I won’t be picking up for these types of calls anymore. It’s always some call centre, isn’t it? I reckon my number’s been passed around like a hot potato. just got a call but as usual i didnt pick up. if it was provident they’d call from a landline. im a customer and thats always how they contact me - or the rep that sorts my stuff leaves me messages. so this is either a call centre or someone trying to scam. wouldnt bother answering even tho some ppl here say its provident.

Received a call today but chose to ignore it-I've taken to not picking up calls from numbers I don't recognise. If it were from Provident, they'd surely ring from their regular contact number. I'm a customer myself, and typically their representative who liaises with me directly would reach out, or, in the past, their office would call from a proper landline. So, regardless of how many folks may feel inclined to trust this number, I’d strongly advise against it. It’s likely just another call centre or, as many suspect, a potential scammer trying their luck.

I recently received a phone call featuring a robotic voice instructing me to ring another 0800 number. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to catch the digits, so I reached out to Provident Direct instead. The chap I spoke with was rather clueless and it seemed that neither he nor anyone else at their end had any inkling about this supposedly important number.
