I got one of those Windows scammers on the line and I just kept them talking for about 12 minutes. Honestly, if you don't mind wasting a bit of time, just let it drag on. Otherwise, just hang up - it's not worth it at all!

I got a call from 0800 200 1313 and the bloke said he was from Microsoft. I told him if he was, then they owe me a new laptop because after their last call, my computer totally died. When I called him out as a scammer and said Microsoft wouldn’t ring like that, he started to get really rude and over the top. That number, 0800 200 1313, is actually a UK landline owned by FREEPHONE GB and run by BT. So, definitely a dodgy call!

I've been receiving calls from an incessant Indian chap purporting to work for a firm that supposedly deals with Windows error reports. He claims there's an issue with my computer, which I must say came as a complete surprise to me. Apparently, he wants to guide me through some key combinations to 'protect' my device. When I politely declined his generous assistance, he threatened that my computer would soon shut down due to some phantom malfunction, and that I would bear the brunt of losing all my files. Quite cheeky, really! There were moments when he was rather impolite, persistently interrupting me whenever I attempted to voice my objections. To add to the annoyance, this same fellow even reached out from an ‘unknown’ and a ‘private’ number. What a nuisance!

On 27/09/18, I got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent telling me my computer was infected with a virus. I told him I’d already seen his video on YouTube, and then he just ended the call!

Got a call from this guy with an Indian accent claiming he worked for some company linked with Windows or whatever. He told me my PC had a virus and offered to fix it for me. I wasn’t having any of it, said thanks but no thanks, and ended the call. Feels like one of those dodgy scams. I’ve read about how these con artists sometimes plant viruses themselves to trick people.
