My elderly sister, who is 88, received a call from this number back on 2nd November 2018. Although she can't remember the details of their conversation, she did jot down the phone number along with the name Appliance Care in her diary. Then, on 5th November, a sum of £180 was debited from her account, clearly labelled from Appliance Care in Chichester. However, when I reached out to their switchboard and followed up with some emails, they feigned ignorance about Appliance Care, claiming they're actually known as Home Appliance Assist. They have refused to clarify how they initiated contact using their number. My attempts to investigate this via online searches have proven fruitless. I'm now escalating this situation with my bank's fraud team.

ABSOLUTE SCAM! A woman named Roxy from a so-called ‘Smart Rescue’ rang my mother’s home, claiming they were taking over her insurance provider. She was bombarding her with questions, getting her first name completely incorrect, and then trying to pry into personal information. Unbelievable!

Smart Rescue presented me with a service contract for my kitchen gadgets, priced at £6.25 per appliance, VAT included. I decided to go ahead with it. To my delight, the paperwork arrived only two days later. I must say, I was quite impressed!

This morning, I received a rather dubious call from someone identifying as "Abigail," who claimed that her firm, “Smart Rescue,” would be taking over my existing insurance provider, Domestic and General, specifically for my washing machine. She inquired about the brand of the appliance and its age, which initially made her seem credible. However, the moment she started to request my bank details, I promptly refused to share any information. Feeling uneasy, I contacted my current insurer, who reassured me that the call was indeed a scam! A quick search revealed that while there is a “Smart Rescue” company, it’s primarily related to breakdown services, and, amusingly, I don’t even own a vehicle! It's baffling how these scams persist.

I received an estimate for some repairs I needed. The price they offered was quite reasonable, and they managed to come out to my home in just a couple of days. The cooker is now fixed, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service.

Generally, I had a rather good experience. Although the waiting period was a tad lengthy, I was pleasantly surprised by their offer of a quarterly maintenance plan for my appliances, which ended up saving me a fair bit of cash. They really need to fine-tune that phone line, but I do appreciate the assistance from Repair Alliance. 08001939333
