Today I got calls a few times from 01212381044, so I phoned them back and they said they were from the “Central Audit Office”. That didn’t sound right since the proper government body is the National Audit Office. When I asked which company they were auditing, they just kept repeating the same name, National Audit Office, without giving any real info. I also tried looking up the company in the register but couldn’t find anything. Something feels off about this.

This call was totally unsolicited, they shouldn’t be holding any of my personal details at all. It feels like they’re breaking the new data protection laws with this PPI spam.

I received a letter asking me to call 0800 1930 224, saying it was from Stansfield more. When I looked it up on a different website like this one, it turned out to be linked to a scam where they ring you back just to push products for sale. Definitely seems dodgy, so beware!

A letter turned up for me recently, so I decided to ring them up, even though I wasn’t sure about it at first. I’m actually pleased I did because the details they shared were quite enlightening, and it’s clear now why they got in touch. There were things I didn’t know about before, and I’m planning to do something about it after hearing what they said. If you’ve had a letter like this, I’d recommend giving them a call so you can hear their side. After that, it’s up to you whether to do anything or not. Sometimes, people might badmouth them unfairly.

Had a letter from these lot this morning and I’m pretty certain it’s a scam. The numbers on there were 0800 799 9039 and 03335 770043.

Tried checking their website at www.centralauditbureau.co.uk but it doesn’t even exist!

The address they gave: Montpellier House, Montpellier Drive, Cheltenham, GL50 1TY is actually a care home, not some office.

Stay clear and make sure you report them!

Today I got a letter from Central Audit Office at Montpellier House in Cheltenham, saying they have details about some legal matter from the past five years and that reaching out might bring me financial gain. Thing is, I haven’t been involved in any legal issues recently, so it has to be a scam. It’s crazy how similar the name is to the 'National Audit Office' too. It’s not just calls from them, now they’re sending letters. How do these companies get away with this? You’d think trading standards would step in. I’m definitely going to report this one!

Got a letter just like that one, but I've got a feeling it's some kind of scam.

I got a call from the number 0845 4134411 and they left a voicemail saying they were from the Central Audit Office, asking me to ring 0800 1930224 because they had some important info for me. When I looked up that 0800 number online, it’s actually linked to a firm called Merisis Financial, which deals with pensions and life assurance (the same address is posted in a previous comment). Their website http://merisisfinancial.co.uk/contact-us/ shows the same number and address. There’s no mention of the Central Audit Office on their site, so it’s clearly a trick to get you to call back, probably just trying to peddle their services. The use of "Central Audit Office" seems deliberately close to the National Audit Office name to make it sound official and fool people into ringing.
