Whenever I receive a call from these sorts of folks, I tend to reach out to a double glazing or insurance firm online-one of those that engage in their own pesky sales pitches. I share the number with them and request a callback. It’s a bit of poetic justice, if you ask me!

After being bombarded with calls for the past year and a half, I decided to invest in a Call Guardian device. I make it a point to scrutinise the call log, yet this particular number manages to ring me every single day, often twice! It’s truly become a nuisance, so much so that I’ve taken to labelling it Pest18. I'm curious-what's the deal with these pesky callers? How on earth do they obtain our numbers? Can the Telephone Preference Service or Information Commissioner’s Office put an end to this madness? What steps can regular folks like us take to fend off these incessant nuisances? K41

On the 5th of July 2016, at around half past four in the afternoon, I received a rather unsolicited phone call from this number. An individual with an Indian accent introduced himself as being from an Accident Helpline. I made it clear that there had been no mishaps on my part and accused him of simply fishing for business. I then rather emphatically suggested he “take a hike” before I disconnected the call. To my surprise, he rang me again! This time, I informed him that I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service and that his call was in direct violation of the law. I warned him that if he persisted, I'd have no choice but to involve the authorities, before ending the conversation once more. Remarkably, he attempted to reach out for a third time, rebuking me for my alleged rudeness! Finally, out of sheer curiosity, I asked him to elaborate on the supposed accident I had experienced. His response was rather cheeky, as he told me to “take a hike” and promptly hung up again. I’ve made sure to report this incident to the TPS.

I just received a rather alarming call from this number claiming I’d been involved in a car accident. When I insisted that was not the case, the caller had the audacity to call me a liar on multiple occasions. He then went on to allege that I'd taken a tumble in the street, and his tone turned quite aggressive. Honestly, I’m just relieved it was me who answered the phone and not my wife or kids.

Greetings, I feel it’s important to share a rather strange experience I had. On 28th March 2016, I received a rather peculiar call from the number 08001 804321. During this call, a gentleman of Asian descent mentioned something about a car accident. I informed him that I had already made a claim and was compensated, making it clear I had no use for his so-called services. To my surprise, he pressed me for details about the amount I received, which I firmly told him was none of his concern. Then, to top it off, he bizarrely claimed to be my husband from a previous life! I was taken aback and asked him to repeat his statement; he reiterated it quite insistently. Frustrated, I told him to clear off. The whole episode left me rather rattled, prompting me to report the incident to the authorities. Subsequently, I was actually visited by a police officer regarding this matter.

I got a call from 08001 804321 on the 28th of March, 2016. On that day, I was contacted by this number concerning a car accident. An Asian gentleman was on the line, and I informed him that I had already filed a claim and received my compensation, so I wasn’t in need of any of his so-called services. He then inquired about the amount I had received, which I firmly told him was none of his concern. To my utter disbelief, he went on to claim that he was my husband from a previous life! I could hardly believe my ears and asked him to repeat himself. His response was even more ridiculous, and I promptly told him to get lost. His odd comments left me quite shaken, prompting me to report the incident to the authorities. Not long after, I had a visit from the police regarding this strange encounter.

I received a rather peculiar call from this number about a car accident. I informed the chap, who sounded Asian, that I had already claimed and received compensation, thus had no need for his assistance. Curiously, he inquired about the amount I had received, and I firmly told him that such details were hardly his concern. To my utter astonishment, he then proclaimed he was my husband from a past life! I was taken aback and asked him to clarify, which he did, reiterating that he indeed was. I promptly told him to clear off. The encounter left me quite flustered, so I decided to report this strange incident to the police, and a policewoman came round to see me.

It seems they've resumed their antics! I was anticipating a call from an 0800 number, but when I picked up, nobody uttered a word before abruptly cutting off. I've gone ahead and added this to my ever-expanding block list, which is absolutely brimming now!

I've been inundated with incessant phone calls day after day, with an array of different numbers popping up on my screen. This has been happening for several months now. I've documented all the numbers, but one particular call has really given me the shivers. It was from a woman with a distinctly American accent, speaking slowly and ominously, warning me that I needed to contact a specific number or I could expect a visit from the police. She claimed to represent the Inland Revenue, and her tone was rather menacing, which distressed me quite a bit. This same caller rang me again just yesterday. I'm genuinely concerned, and it feels like something ought to be done about this harassment. Where can individuals like myself turn for assistance?

Received a call from a bloke named "John". He insisted that there had been an accident involving someone from our family. Quizzically, he asked how I was managing, to which I responded that I was alright until his call-and now I was rather miffed. He just wouldn’t let up about this so-called accident, so I resorted to unleashing a string of expletives until he finally hung up. Utter muppets!

Received a call from this number today, but I chose to ignore it, and naturally, no message was left behind. From the various remarks I've seen from others, one would think that with all the modern technology at our disposal, we could put an end to these despicable, parasitic individuals! I've had my fair share of unsettling calls in the past, particularly one time when they insisted I was having issues with my computer and that they could help rectify it. I was indeed facing some glitches at the time, so it’s not hard to see why some might fall into their trap. When I mentioned that I could sort the issue out myself and probed them about their location, they quickly resorted to being abusive and aggressive in their tone. It’s no wonder people feel the way they do about such callers!

This seems to follow the same old pattern as the other remarks I've seen. When I mentioned that I’d never been in an accident and was curious how they sourced my number, especially since we’re registered with the TPS, he insisted on talking to my husband. I explained that I wasn’t hitched, and then he wanted to chat with my boyfriend! I pointed out that if he weren’t cold calling, he’d surely know my name, which he clearly didn’t. Eventually, I asked to speak to a supervisor, but he just hung up on me. Typical, isn’t it?

I received a call from an Indian or Pakistani gentleman who claimed to be representing Accident Help Line. When I requested to be taken off their contact list, he responded with some truly offensive remarks that were utterly revolting. I insisted on speaking to a supervisor, only to be met by yet another individual from the same background who continued the profanity. I've lodged a complaint with BT and intend to inform the police about this unacceptable behaviour.

Upon arriving back at my residence, I discovered a rather peculiar voicemail left by a gentleman with an Asian accent. It appeared he was slightly perplexed by the whole notion of an answering machine, as he kept saying 'hello' and repeatedly mentioned my name. After a few moments of silence, he abruptly concluded with a rather rude 'goodbye... f**k off.' I attempted to ring the number back to express my discontent, but to my disbelief, it turned out to be untraceable. I really wish there was a way to put a stop to this sort of annoyance.

That's me, without a doubt! I’ve been receiving calls from this number (08001804321) for nearly a year now. It’s always a foreign-sounding voice asking if I’ve had an accident and if I’m alright, which is rather annoying. They often come in clusters-some days I get them at the same time, and then they seem to vanish for a while, especially after I hang up in frustration. The truth is, I haven’t had any accidents and am perfectly fine. The only mark on my ancient car (which is a 27-year-old model) comes from a little mishap in the Asda car park six years ago, but it’s not worth mentioning! I’m absolutely chuffed to have stumbled across your website today!

This number, 08001804321, called my phone once more around half past seven this evening. I held on, hoping to hear a voice on the other end, but all I got was silence. The moment I began to respond, they swiftly ended the call. It makes me wonder if there's something about my voice that doesn't appeal to them-perhaps I'm just not the right demographic! I can't shake the feeling that they must be after someone older, perhaps someone a bit more susceptible, or even a young child, to ply their tricks on.

Today, I received an intriguing call from an individual with an Asian accent, who identified himself as calling from a number associated with 08001801804321. Upon inquiring about how they acquired my number, he simply responded with a dismissive "no," followed by a rather derisive tone as he repeated it. When I requested for my number to be taken off their list, instead of complying, he persisted with the mockery, which I found quite intolerable. To say I was frustrated would be an understatement, so I promptly ended the call. It's baffling how these kinds of callers aren't being held accountable-surely, the relevant authorities ought to intervene and put an end to this nonsense!

Received yet another dodgy call in the last fortnight. A bloke named "David" claimed that there’d been some mishap associated with my home, according to my insurers. When I inquired about which insurance company he was on about, he went, "just a sec," before abruptly hanging up. It’s rather infuriating as I’m listed under both personal and business categories (someone mistakenly used my number for a local enterprise). So, not only should I be steering clear of these con artists, but I really shouldn’t be getting any of these calls in the first place.

It's quite straightforward, really. Just ignore calls from numbers that aren’t saved in your contacts. Let them leave a voicemail if they're legitimate. If not, look up the number online and make use of the caller blocking feature - most decent phones offer that at no extra cost. I received a rather odd call today from a company claiming to represent the Accident Help Line, inquiring after someone at our address involved in an accident. I promptly informed them that no such incident had occurred and requested they remove our number from their records. To my surprise, the line went dead immediately after that. Then, bizarrely, the same number proceeded to ring six other direct lines in our office - lines that aren’t listed publicly, mind you. So, how on earth did they obtain those? When attempting to return the call, all I got was silence on the line. By the way, I couldn’t help but notice the peculiar dial tone, the slight lag, and that fellow's accent. I'm utterly fed up with picking up the phone just to deal with these fools.

I've had to block this number, but my phone keeps prompting me to replace it. It's quite infuriating as these calls keep sneaking through. I usually let the answering machine pick up, but they always hang up before they leave a proper message. Quite the nuisance, if I may say!

I had a similar experience - they cut the call as soon as I picked up. I reckon that with the 0800 digits, they're banking on me returning the call. I'm registered with the TPS, so these sorts of calls shouldn’t be reaching me. It’s rather unsettling, though, as I'm concerned that by actually answering the phone, I've somehow signed myself up for a barrage of nuisance calls from these scammers.

The phone rang and went straight to voicemail, yet the caller didn’t bother to leave a message. This marks the third time today that this particular number has contacted us.

I received a call from this number, and lo and behold, as soon as I began to speak, they abruptly hung up. It seems they were well aware of what I might say next, and honestly, it’s rather inappropriate to discuss the specifics here. Regards, T.S.

They keep insisting they're from Microsoft, but as soon as I mention that I don't actually own a laptop, they hang up. Then, lo and behold, thirty minutes later, the same number calls me back, this time inquiring about an accident I can't recall at all. It's baffling how they manage to obtain our numbers, especially when we fork out cash for the 'ex-directory' service. It's all rather dodgy, isn't it?

Picked up the call, only to be met with complete silence before they abruptly ended the conversation.

He insisted he had some inside scoop about an accident involving someone associated with this number over the past year. Curious, I queried him about my address, and to my surprise, he couldn't even tell me that!

I've opted out of directories, yet I've recently had a home phone set up. Honestly, it's quite frustrating to receive calls from individuals overseas at all hours, pestering me about an accident I never experienced. I've started picking up just to tell them to bugger off!

This number persistently calls and then cuts off, even when I pick up the phone. It’s rather infuriating!

Here comes another pesky call from one of those dodgy accident claims firms. It's high time we put a stop to these so-called businesses. What a nuisance!

I received a call regarding a car crash I was involved in, which took me by surprise. Curious, I probed a bit and asked the caller for his identity. To my astonishment, he barked, "I'm your bloody father, you muppet!" before abruptly cutting off the line. What a peculiar encounter!

On the 12th of November, 2014, at precisely 5:03 in the afternoon, I received a call from an Asian gentleman regarding some sort of 'Accident Claim'. After I pointed out rather sternly that he had dialled an ex-directory number, he started hurling insults my way. I decided to cut the conversation short and ended the call swiftly!

I’ve just received a call from this number-what on earth is going on? Why are they ringing me?!

A downright bothersome annoyance. It’s clearly a scam. Best to give it a wide berth.

I received a call from someone purporting to be with Accident Advice Helpline, inquiring about an accident I supposedly had. Oddly enough, I haven't been involved in any recent mishaps. When I pressed for clarification on how they obtained my information, they were rather evasive. Interestingly, I noticed that the number they provided is slightly different: it’s actually 0800 180 4123 for Accident Advice Helpline. Curious, don’t you think?

I received a call from a bloke with a pronounced Asian accent, claiming he was inquiring about an accident I supposedly had two years back. The issue is, I’ve never been involved in any such incident! I firmly told him to take my number off their list and hung up. Definitely sounds like a scammer to me!

I received a call from this number at a rather inconvenient moment. Curiously, I've had four calls from them over the last fortnight. This time, however, it was a person on the line rather than a recorded message.
