I missed the call but it was defo CMS (Child Maintenance Service). They texted me from the same number they always do saying they’d been trying to reach me and that there’s an update on my account. I logged onto the portal later and saw the new info was added earlier that day. So yea, it’s not a scam, it’s for real.

I reckon this call is prob from the Child Maintenance Service, which comes under the UK Department for Work and Pensions. Got a call from Child Maintenance early Sunday, left a voicemail saying they dont work weekends but to call Mon-Fri and gave bank info. My son is 24 so yeah, this is defo a SCAM!

I got a voicemail telling me to ring this number, claiming they were from DWP and wanted to talk to me. So I used the online chat on the official DWP site and asked them about it. They said they hadn’t tried to get in touch with me and suspected it was a scam. They told me to just delete the message, block the number and definitely not to call back.

My phone just rang but no message was left. Lots of folks mention this being from child maintenance, but the call came round 9 in the morning on a Saturday. Last I checked, not many official places operate then, and my kids are well past 40 now! I’d honestly be pretty wary of this number.

I'm in the same boat. Got a missed call, rang back, gave them my info, and the way they handled me was so awful and unprofessional it honestly felt like a scam. Then I found out it was the Child Maintenance Service doing their usual thing. Truly a fine example of public service by those who actually take no notice. Fingers crossed they chase our PM with the same enthusiasm.

I picked up but nobody said anything. I was just on the phone with CMS before, so this really seems like a scam to me.
