Hey, I just received a letter from MBNA with this number listed. I actually made a PPI claim with them before but got denied. Now they’re saying I can attempt to reclaim. I looked up the address on the letter and everything looked legit at first. After seeing what you lot have written here though, I’m not so sure anymore.

A bloke called Mike rang our home landline earlier asking for my partner. She wasn’t in, so I told him I’d get her to ring back on 08001692973, mentioning it was about something they’d spoken about before. I passed the message on to her and she ended up dealing with the call herself. Afterwards, it caused a huge amount of tension between us. The caller from 0800 1692973 started going on about a previous MBNA card and claiming the interest was too steep. She was on the phone for nearly 30 minutes and ended up giving away her mum’s maiden name, place of birth, and other personal info before deciding to hang up. She rang MBNA later on, who said that the number wasn’t connected to them at all. Now I’m going to have to take her down to the police station today to report what’s happened. If anyone’s got any advice on what to do next, I’d be really grateful.
