This was used to impersonate Barclaycard today 16 Feb 2026. I received a text from Barclaycard (the previous texts from the same number suggest it was genuine) it advised that I would shortly receive a text from a 5 digit number 60939. That text arrived and listed three transactions, two genuine and the last one not. The text asked me to reply with Y if they were all genuine or N if they were not. Before I could reply Barclaycard’s fraud team called. They did not ask for any information but asked me to confirm with Y so they could manually authorise the two genuine transactions. Stupidly I did. Luckily it didn’t work. He got me to try multiple times and then gave up. I later got a call from Barclaycard which I returned through their app. They confirmed I was talking to a scammer and blocked my card and app. Close call!

I got a voicemail that seemed like a total scam, asking for personal details. They did say my name, but honestly, that’s not surprising since it’s linked to my phone number. I checked online and found loads of people got calls from the "Barclay Fraud Team" using this same number. When I called Barclays myself, they said they never made the call.

Got a call from this number saying there was some dodgy stuff on my Barclaycard account. I rang up Barclaycard myself to check and they said they hadn’t called me at all. Definitely a scam.

I’ve been inundated with calls from this number over the past couple of days, and it's quite alarming. These days, scoundrels can easily spoof legitimate numbers without breaking a sweat.
I certainly wouldn’t recommend pushing any buttons as they suggest.
I plan to contact the Barclaycard team myself first thing tomorrow to verify if there's any dodgy business regarding my card. 🤷‍♀️

I keep getting these calls that claim to be from Barkley card, leaving messages for a certain Mr Ashley Williams regarding potential fraudulent activity on his account. Just to clarify, he has never resided here at any point. I reached out to him, and he confirmed he hasn't made any transactions on his card either. It's quite frustrating, as these calls seem incessant, and despite registering my number with the Telephone Preference Service, they show no signs of stopping!
