I’ve been getting calls from this number about some PPI charge they say I owe for a £24 cheque they sent me. I don’t trust it and refuse to call back because I’ve heard it might be a scam. Their letters claim the money was paid into a bank account I’ve never heard of, and when I asked about it, they said the bank gave them a different account number - also completely unfamiliar to me. The email they provide in the letters doesn’t work either. I’ve stopped answering their calls now but I’m stuck on what to do next. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Got a spam text saying I need to send back some 'important document' for a claim or whatever. Probably just one of those annoying PPI things again. But honestly, if you ring that number, you're likely ending up on a premium rate line and getting stung with a huge bill. Best to just ignore it completely.
