6 yearsI received a rather alarming phone call claiming that my National Insurance number had been suspended, instructing me to press '1' to speak with someone. Naturally, I did, and was greeted by an individual with a distinctly Indian accent. He informed me of supposed fraudulent activities linked to my NI number and warned me that warrants had been issued for my arrest! When he requested my insurance number, I firmly refused to provide it. He then insisted that I either divulge the information or face a trip to the courthouse.
