They purport to represent Three, yet what they genuinely do is acquire a wholesale package from Three and try to sell you their so-called deals. My advice? Avoid engaging with them altogether. Simply hang up, or even better, choose not to respond at all.

About a couple of years back, I had a conversation with these chaps. Their tactic was to solicit my name and phone number for some sort of identity verification. I informed them that I'm not one for sharing personal details over the phone. They claimed to represent 3 Mobile, and I pointed out that if that were the case, they ought to have my information at hand. They then backtracked, saying they weren’t precisely from 3 but had a close affiliation with them. I told them where to shove it, and if they dare ring me again, I’ll do it all over again!

When they ask, simply respond that you’ll fetch the person they’re after and set the phone down out of sight. Wait a few moments, then pick up the receiver and announce that they are just arriving, and carry on this way. Keep repeating the process and see how many times you can say "just a moment" before they finally give up. We only managed to get one this time, but last time? We topped it off with three! How thrilling!
