So this was a follow-up call from Public Health England (PHE) for people who’ve just come back to the UK. It’s to make sure you’re aware that you need to self-isolate for 14 days. I missed their call because I was upstairs, but when I called back they knew I had already got in touch. They called again the next day and were really polite. They’ll keep trying to reach you by phone or text, and if you don’t reply, they might even visit your listed address. Definitely not a scam, just save their number in your phone so you know it’s legit when they ring!

They tend to request the person's name and then share some ID info to prove they're legit, like the country you visited, the airport you left from or landed at, flight details including the airline, arrival time, even your seat number. All these are things you’d have given them around two days before your UK flight. Pretty professional approach, must say. Big thumbs up to PHE!
