Honestly, avoid dealing with these lot at all costs. They’ll trick you into paying way more than the actual value of what they’re selling. If you hand over a deposit, you expect to have a fortnight to change your mind, right? Well, good luck getting that money back - it won’t happen. They’re a shady outfit, only interested in making a quick buck. They couldn’t care less if you’re in a tough spot. Seriously, watch out for them.

Quite the unpleasant experience, I must say! My wife received a call from a chap named Roy who was trying to set up an appointment. When she asked him for some details, he had the audacity to label her as ignorant. A rather odd approach, if you ask me. I'd be intrigued to know if anyone ever ends up purchasing anything from Roy after such a bizarre interaction!

I got a call today (1/9/16) in Withington (Manchester) at around 3:30 pm. The number had an 0800 start (0800 114622), which felt a bit off, so I picked up and just said "Hello" (I don’t give my name anymore). Nobody replied, just some kind of music playing in the background. I ended the call straight away as it clearly wasn’t from a legit company and probably some kind of scam. I don’t trust buying stuff on the phone or from doorstep callers anyway.

The 0800 part seemed a bit fishy, so I picked up and just said "Hello" (I don’t give my name to unknown callers anymore). There was no reply, just some radio tunes playing in the background. Wait a sec, folks! I've come up with a cracking plan! What if we make "Roy" go deaf? There's this loud rock tune called 'Heart Attack in my Head' by 'Winnebago Deal'. When these annoying ppl ring you, set it up to blast at full volume, pick up the call, put the phone near the speaker, play the song, quickly leave the room (to save your ears), then come back once it's finished. He replied like I was daft, "oh, changed your mind then?" and then he read out my address. I said, "Yeah, thats us but we never made that call." I recently had a chat with someone who called from this number, and she claimed that a company would be in my neighbourhood tomorrow conducting complimentary energy efficiency assessments. I mentioned that I wasn't keen, as I'm confident that my home is quite energy efficient already. However, she insisted that they would evaluate my property for any potential inefficiencies and provide me with a certificate which I might use to access government funding. She even suggested that I could pocket the funds for other home improvements, even if my house met the energy standards! I expressed my concerns, deeming the whole scheme rather dubious, yet she continued her sales pitch! It's astounding how persistent some people can be!

It hadn't bothered us for around six months, so we thought we were in the clear. However, to our surprise, it rang again yesterday! When I said I wasn’t aware of any letter and that they’d need to send it again if they wanted to book a slot, the bloke got quite rude and started calling me a time waster and that it was unlikely we were the only ones who hadn’t got the letter. I just picked up the phone and ended up overhearing two people chatting about some weirdo on holiday! In the end, he gave up and hung up, probably thinking he hadn’t actually reached me.

Got a call about Windows sales, they said they were local. When I asked where they found my number, they claimed it was from a "national database" even though my number has always been ex-directory and only shared with close friends and family. They just hung up on me. I've since blocked the number now.

I got a recorded call from some energy company, something like EnergyGas or whatever. It started with "Hello, you've been called by Energygas" or a similar name.

This isn’t the real number for Energiglass, even tho some cold-call scammers try to make you believe it is. The genuine Energiglass contact is 0800 111 4622; the dodgy calls come from 0800 11 4622, which isn’t even a valid number.

Just found out about this number: 0800 11 46 22. Looks like it's linked to a company called The Energy Company or maybe "Energiglass." The director’s name is Danyal Uddin, and the address is 45 Pont St., London, SW1 0BX. Might be worth sending them a letter or better yet, a bunch of letters telling them what you really think!

Someone rang me saying they were Michelle from The Energy Centre, setting up a visit about energy efficiency. They said it was Huddersfield based, but sounded dodgy when I asked for their office address and quickly ended the call. Kinda worried they might be holding onto my personal info about my house without following the Data Protection rules.

Got a call from Roy at Energy Care. Typical tale about setting up an appointment after I asked for one. When I told him I’d never heard of the firm or asked for a visit, he said something like “you sound like a…” and cut me off, hanging up right there. Just another annoying caller who somehow has your details.

Some bloke named 'Matthew' from 'The Energy Centre' rang me from 0800114622, even though I’m registered on the TPS and never asked for a call. He claimed their office is in Baildon close to Leeds. When I asked to talk to his manager to understand why they called, he just cut me off. I thought about reporting it to the TPS and ICO, but it seems a bit useless, really.

Got a call today, and the bloke knew my name. Said he was Tony Beesley and wanted to talk about a steamed-up window, said he wanted to pop round to have a look. I thought maybe my husband rang and forgot to mention it cos we replaced the windows last year, so I said I’d call back later. Hubby had no clue about it and got a bit wary. I rang the number back - 07401 337948 - and asked what firm he was with, he said something like World of Windows. I told him it wasn’t us, and he just said he had no idea how the mix-up happened. Definitely seemed dodgy!

My parents have been getting bothered by this number every few days. Whenever they express disinterest, the caller simply starts chatting with someone else in the office, leaving my folks on the line feeling utterly neglected. They’re really at their wits' end with these persistent calls! It’s high time someone put a stop to this nonsense. If it’s a business calling, they ought to undergo some basic training in manners, because their rudeness is absolutely unacceptable.

Got a call from some bloke named Roy who was proper rude, saying he might squeeze me in for tomorrow. I asked him straight up, “Who exactly are you?” He goes, “We do free government cavity wall and loft insulation.” I told him I never asked for any appointment. Then he has the nerve to say, “You’re being very rude,” and just slammed the phone down on me. Honestly, left me feeling pretty upset. What a nasty guy, so full of himself.
