Got a call from Sainsburys Energy, which I think is just British Gas under another name. When you request a quote, they ask for your number “just in case,” but that’s no excuse for ringing you up out of the blue trying to sell stuff. You’d think they’d get that annoying potential customers like me just makes them less likely to become my energy provider! What a daft move.

A lady on the phone mentioned that she’s affiliated with Nectar and then promptly pushed a rather aggressive proposal to change our energy supplier to British Gas. We're starting to think she might be acting on behalf of British Gas in some way. Frankly, given our past experiences with them - the last provider we’d ever want to deal with - we are extremely wary. Just a heads-up to everyone out there!

Could this be from Nectar? We signed up with Sainsbury's Energy Co right when they teamed up with EDF. I'm still sticking with EDF as we prefer not to switch to Sainsbury's new partner, British Gas. Over the past week, this number has been ringing me repeatedly. I usually just let it go to voicemail without answering. Whenever I listen back, there’s a robotic female voice spelling out random letters like "N.O.H.E.L.L." or something similar, about ten letters every time.
