Got a text claiming to be from Sky, but it seemed a bit dodgy to me. Might be one of those scam messages trying to pull a fast one. Always makes me wary when I get unexpected texts like that, especially if they're asking for info or money. Better to double check before clicking any links or replying.

I've been having a right bother with something that's masquerading as the Windows Defender Security Centre on my machine. It keeps getting in the way and won’t let me get on with my work unless I consent to their so-called assistance. This has popped up twice already and it's really starting to grind my gears.

Some bloke from India rang me up asking if I'd got any sort of compensation claim. Told him to shove off right away.

Just got my second email saying I spent £499 through Paypal, which I never did! The email had a helpline number too but I didn’t call it since I haven’t bought anything. I’ve already told Paypal it’s a spoof.

***FRAUD ALERT - AVOID THEIR TWADDLE AT ALL COSTS***

I received an email purportedly from 'Paypal', presenting an invoice for a £499 purchase of an iPad mini that I never ordered. The email featured an outdated address and was sent from [email protected].

It's blatantly a scam, but I must admit, these creatures infuriate me. Out of sheer curiosity, I contacted the so-called 'Paypal helpline' which was a free number. Unsurprisingly, I ended up in an Indian call centre, where the chap on the other end instructed me to jump on my computer and navigate to www.amazonorder.20.weebly.com.

I could hardly contain my laughter at the utterly ridiculous web address *cue eye roll*. I suspect he intended to remotely access my machine and install a bunch of dodgy software or something similar. It’s pretty alarming; numerous individuals could easily be duped. The absolute scoundrels behind this are quite adept at sounding credible.

***WATCH OUT FOR PHISHING SCAMS - DON’T FALL FOR THEIR TRICKS!*** I received a dodgy email purporting to be from 'PayPal', claiming there was an invoice for an iPad mini I’d supposedly bought for a whopping £499. Clearly, this was just a load of codswallop, but I was absolutely furious with these scammers. I thought I’d humour myself and called their so-called free ‘PayPal hotline’. Surprise, surprise - the call centre was in India! The bloke on the other end asked me to hop on my computer and visit a certain website... I couldn’t help but chuckle at the so-called 'professional' web address he rattled off. It struck me as an obvious ploy for him to gain remote access to my device and dump a load of shady software on it, just like that. It’s genuinely unsettling, as many unsuspecting folks might actually be taken in by this nonsense. The crooks behind it can be alarmingly persuasive.

I just got a dodgy email claiming that £499 was snatched from my account for an iPad that I absolutely know nothing about. They even had the cheek to include a customer service contact number: 08001026599, should I have any concerns. Thankfully, I use Payoneer, so I can tell this is nothing but a scam!

I got an email claiming I’d placed a really pricey order I never actually made. It said something like, “Thanks for your purchase on 7th Feb 2022. We’ve processed £499 to Apple Inc and your merchant knows about it. The charge will show up as ‘PayPal Inc.’ within 24 hours.” There was a helpline number too, +44 800 102 6599, which they said to call if I needed support. What freaked me out was that they had my name, address and postcode right there. Needless to say, I didn’t fall for it and didn’t ring the number!

8/2/22. Noticed I received two dodgy emails just a day apart; one supposedly from "Amazon" (majorxblumbergu520 - oh come off it!) and the other from "PayPal". Apparently, I made a purchase for a bed on Amazon and an iPad through PayPal, though I can’t recall - perhaps I’d had one too many drinks again! What's truly concerning is that the PayPal phishing email had both my name and home address; that’s a first for the scam emails I've come across. I rang up EE, and they confirmed that the number was flagged as a scam associated with various financial firms, but they couldn't access the registered user details due to not having the authority (they simply did an online check). It's utterly ridiculous how these data protection laws are interpreted, enabling these criminals to carry on their underhanded tactics. If scam numbers were eradicated the moment they were identified, we wouldn't all be chatting on platforms like this, and the unsuspecting folks wouldn't fall prey to these scams. I've gone ahead and changed my passwords, enabled two-factor authentication, and made sure to report the incident to PayPal.

I’ve just got an email that claims to confirm an order from Amazon for £486 for a mattress that I certainly haven't purchased. Oddly enough, it seems to be headed to an unknown individual in California as a gift! What’s more, the email didn’t even come from a legitimate Amazon address. They did manage to use my postcode, but apart from that, they didn’t have much else on me. Quite the suspicious affair, if you ask me!

Got a call from this number earlier and the voicemail sounded pretty scary, mentioning some legal trouble if I didn't ring back. Made me feel a bit uneasy, to be honest.

I got a similar message claiming that £499 is set to be taken from my PayPal account tomorrow. What really set me on edge was that the email looked quite legitimate-didn’t end up in my junk folder. It addressed me by my full name and even mentioned an old address I haven't lived at for eight years! I've gone ahead and reported it to PayPal, changed my password, and enabled two-factor authentication on my account just to be safe.

I recently received a rather dodgy email claiming to be from PayPal, notifying me of a £499 transaction for an iPad. It even provided a helpline number-08001026599-in case I encountered any difficulties. Intriguingly, the email did contain some accurate details, including my name and part of my address. However, the sender's address was clearly suspect, revealing it originated from pahshsmagshs rather than PayPal. It's evident that this is a scam, likely leading to a con artist on the other end of the phone, ready to bombard me with “security questions.” My recommendation? Block the email and steer clear of that number entirely!
