Funny thing is, I’d just put up an ad on Gumtree, so I reckon that’s where they’re scraping the numbers from. Happened twice now whenever I post there. Caller’s blocked now.

Funny enough I’d just put an ad on Gumtree, which I reckon is where they’re nicking the numbers from, cause it’s happened twice now after putting ads up there. Blocked the caller now.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Horizons Law Consultancy and said they were ringing because of an accident I supposedly had, saying they were working for my insurance company. They told me I could get between £3000 and £6000 but wanted me to share personal info, which I definitely didn’t give. After that, they just hung up.

Right after putting up an ad on Gumtree, I got loads of calls from those dodgy "traffic accident compensation" scammers. Funny thing is, they noticed the word Chevrolet in my ad - bit embarrassing for them though, as it was just a toy car I collect! If you’re getting calls from places you don’t know, best just to ignore them. They even use 0800 numbers now. Anyone who really has to get in touch will do it properly.

Scam calls about insurance and accidents are getting ridiculous. Right after I put up my ad on Gumtree, I got a call saying they were handling my accident compensation from the past few years. They couldn’t get my name, car make, or insurance info right, plus they acted like I drive when I don’t even own a car. I just blocked them and reported it to Action Fraud straight away.

This number 0800 102 6483 has been ringing me non-stop for weeks, and I just kept ignoring it. Eventually, I picked up today to tell them to buzz off and then blocked the caller. Not even five minutes later, an Edinburgh number 0131 608 1261 rang me up. It was the same woman trying to convince me I could get £4,000 compensation for a car crash. I told her firmly to stop calling me again and she actually got quite upset, asking why I wouldn’t accept the money and if it was something she did wrong. I just hung up and blocked that number too.

Some bloke rang me, gave a name like Sanjeep or possibly Sudary, or even Gupta - honestly, can’t recall exactly. All I got was this weird spiel about BHUD BHUD and charging me £2.95. Then he started going on about Reebok, saying if I want that, he’ll sell me Nike instead! Proper odd call that was.

Had a ring from a nice sounding Indian lady claiming I could get around £5000 compensation for a car accident supposedly within the past couple years. When I asked if it sounded like a scam, she got quite annoyed, telling me I was fibbing and it’s fine to confess if I’d had a crash. Thing is, I don’t even have a driving licence.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Road to Recovery. Totally obvious it was an Indian call centre. They said they had info about an accident I was involved in. I asked them for the car’s registration number to check. After a while they put me through to a manager. I asked again for the reg and which lawyers they were working with. The names he gave me weren’t anyone I knew. Then out of the blue he called me a "monkey bitch". I just told him to find himself a proper job and ended the call!

Pure scammers! They claimed to be from "Road to Recovery." As soon as I asked if they got my number from Gumtree, they hung up straight away. Classic trick - they target folks who post on Gumtree and pretend they’re offering cash. They told me I was owed £4000 for a car accident, but I don’t even own a car! Best to block and report them to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. Don’t fall for it!

This number rang me repeatedly, about five times. When I finally answered, the person claimed to be from a solicitor's office regarding a crash I supposedly had last year that wasn’t my fault. They then asked if I’d managed to locate some papers they’d sent. I told them I hadn’t, explaining I lost all my limbs in the accident and couldn’t possibly get to them. After that, they just cut me off :(

I got a phone call that sounded like it came from an Asian call centre claiming it was a verification call from Hastings Direct. They told me I wasn’t at fault and said I was owed about £4,500. The caller insisted I needed to complete some verification steps. I asked why they hadn’t sent a letter, since that seems the proper way to handle things, but they said they never do that. I wasn’t comfortable giving my info, so I refused. Then, only a few minutes later, I received another call from a different company on an 0161 number, trying the same story. I told them I’d already spoken to someone else and was not interested. They just said okay and wished me a good day. Totally a scam to me, so I’ve blocked both numbers.
