I received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft’s tech support team. They were attempting to gain access to my computer, urging me to download a specific application. I've since blocked their number!

I got a message on my computer saying it was infected with a virus and to call Microsoft on a number they gave. When I looked up that phone number, it showed up as a scam. I powered off my PC, waited a bit, then turned it back on and the warning was gone. 100% a scam if you ask me.

I thought it was something urgent, so I picked up straight away, but when I answered twice, there was nothing but silence on the other end.

Sounds like a scam to me, someone pretending to be from Microsoft just to get into my computer.
