I received a call from this number, and it seems they had knowledge of how long I’ve been with Sky, which was a bit strange. However, they proceeded to bombard me with an excessive number of verification queries-first my name, then my address and postcode, and then they wanted my mother's maiden name. At that point, I decided enough was enough and opted not to engage any further. Just a word of caution-there's really no justification for such an extensive "security check".

It’s all well and fine to assert that this is an official Sky number, yet it doesn’t guarantee that it’s actually Sky on the line. We’re well aware that fraudsters can easily spoof numbers, leading us to believe the call is from a legitimate source. It's quite absurd that when they ring us, we should have to establish our identity, while they should be obligated to confirm theirs. After all, we don’t have to provide proof when we reach out to them!

Dumbly, I ended up revealing my last name and postcode. However, when I decided to put a stop to the questioning, he threatened to escalate the matter to security and promptly disconnected the call. Over the past three days, I've had the misfortune of receiving three separate calls from this particular number. The voices on the other end sounded quite youthful and distinctly British. To my surprise, they already seemed to have my name at their disposal. They inquired about my satisfaction with Sky, and I responded to the first caller with an affirmative and mentioned that should any issues arise, I’d reach out to Sky directly. Strangely enough, they didn’t probe me for too many details-no enquiries regarding payment options or anything of that sort. It feels rather legitimate at first glance. Should I find out there's a hidden agenda behind this, I’ll be sure to keep everyone informed. But as it stands, everything seems above board.
