This number is indeed legitimate, as they’ll send you a text before giving you a ring. It's from HBOS (Lloyds/Halifax/TSB/BOS) concerning complaints related to packaged bank accounts that folks have lodged, whether directly with the bank or via third-party services. I’m really pleased I picked up when they called, as I managed to claim back thousands for a mis-sold Ultimate Reward current account with Halifax. I hear they also deal with various account types like Select, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Premier. Just to clarify, this isn't related to PPI, but if you've recently filed a complaint with your bank, expect them to reach out. Make sure to ring your bank back using a number you trust, referencing your complaint number, as it would be such a shame to miss out on the compensation that's rightfully yours! :)

Received a call that claimed to be from The Halifax concerning a complaint I lodged. They then sent me a message, but I decided to hang up and ignored the text altogether.

I encountered a similar scenario where someone claimed to be from Halifax and asked for my date of birth. I didn't give in and decided to call them directly instead, only to discover they had no record of any such inquiry.
